hang on...YV came up with Crouch! I just added an alternative! :P

I think you'll find that all mine were current players! (although probably so bad, you couldn't tell!)

Sorry Roo I suppose YV is just trying too hard. <laugh>

I did laugh when i saw that YV had typed in "greek stuff" to google. I was about 3 search terms ahead of him at the time, having already tried "greek stuff" and got nowhere!!

I'd definitely rest Dembele, for looking like the key to our season. I'd be sorely tempted to rest Sandro, Vertonghen and Lennon as well.

Hope this helps...7.05 If two or more teams are equal on points on completion of all the group
matches, the following criteria are applied to determine the rankings (in
descending order):
a) higher number of points obtained in the group matches played among the
teams in question;
b) superior goal difference from the group matches played among the teams
in question;
c) higher number of goals scored in the group matches played among the
teams in question;
d) higher number of goals scored away from home in the group matches
played among the teams in question;
e) if, after having applied criteria a) to d), two teams still have an equal
ranking, criteria a) to d) are reapplied exclusively to the matches between
the two teams in question to determine their final rankings. If this
procedure does not lead to a decision, criteria f) to h) apply;
f) superior goal difference from all group matches played;
g) higher number of goals scored from all group matches played;
h) higher number of coefficient points accumulated by the club in question,
as well as its association, over the previous five seasons (see
paragraph 9.03)
:undecided:

if you were able to a) get to the end, and b) correctly work out what this actually means, we will add 16 more points with appropriately convoluted verbiage. Repeat as needed.

But we don't need all this, we just need the goals scored to be counted rather than ruled offside or scored with fouls and any other variation the ref thinks will pass muster.

This was how we always determined the winner in the past.

I'd give Dembele the first half for match fitness after his injury and to hopefully help us with his influence.

It's Euro night again and I hope we try to win this cup.
Makes me think of the time we were in the European Cup a long time ago.....and almost got to that final but for some nasty officiating in Lisbon.Know the feeling?Spurs scoring good goals only to be counted out.....
The first game was in Poland and we got hammered.4-0 at halftime but we somehow got two goals back.
There was hell to pay by the press who caned us.
In the return at The Lane,some supporters turned up wearing Greek togas holding up placards calling themselves "Spurs Angels".As you know we caned THEM 8-1 with the best goal being scored by a Pole!
Our fans wore them at the next round until a local vicar decided that "Spurs Angels" was a blasphemy so those fans later turned up as Romans mentioning that famous Spurs player "Spurticus".
Can't remember his position..........!but these Romans beat the ancient Britons 2-1 after extra time.

Thes Romans then built Hadrian's Wall to keep the Man United fans out but got the wrong United.The Wall was built near Newcastle!

Like Big Smithy said, I want us to win this cup too but would also want to see a few others given a chance as at times, our strongest team in the Europa has let us down so I want to make sure the players selected give it their all, therefore I think some of the youngsters/ squad players deserve a chance as they'll be hungry to impress.

Going to be tough, Pana are no pushovers.

Hoping to see:

Friedel,
Walker, Gallas, Caulker, Naughton
Falque, Livermore, Carroll, Townsend
Sigurdsson
Adebayor

Very young midfield but all are more than capable of putting in a good performance in a game like this and the likes of Sandro, Lennon, Vertonghen, Defoe etc will probably need a rest after the games we've had in such a short period.

With THAT team, I think it can sneak a 1-0/ 2-0 maybe even more in fairness
. Pana never looked too threatening in the first game apart from when we sat back so I reckon a team of players that'll try to impress for the whole 90 minutes will be more effective than a team who may not take it too seriously.

I think the difference this year is...our new manager is eager to win this cup.Harry,it seemed,was eager to get out of it as quick as possible.
Mind you,if QPR was in it this year, I bet Harry would be going for it!

Is he about to make a smash and grab!

Does anyone know when the squad is out for the game? My friend thinks Parker is in it but he probably got that from a Twitter rumour or something.

Getty images doesn't allow deep linking like that. You'll have to download those images and repost them if you want us to see them.

Can't see Parker playing. He only put in 90 minutes yesterday.

I can see them. They just have a big watermark on them.

They'll show if you've opened them already on the getty site. I only know this because I have to use a different computer (located in Germany) for viewing not606, and they don't show. I suppose it could just be me...

I haven't opened them before or been on the site. Just you then :p

He's only just completed his first 90 minute in a reserve game YV and he intends one more ( the U21's play S'land on Monday), so I think its more likely to be the home game v Swansea, Everton appears too soon. Could be wrong though, might all be a smokescreen, but so far I haven't seen that used by AVB, he's been quite straight up with injured players so far.

Ah right, was it a closed door friendly rather than development league? Thanks for the info <ok>
