Hey Ivor, be nice please, there's too much slagging off going on here. If you want sensible debate, ask your question or put your point in a sensible form, i.e., not just putting us down and then asking for our comments. That's too easy. You're on here a lot, so why not try and be part of something constructive and not destructive?? It's only a game, and apart from a few serious drop kicks, most people are sensible and happy to argue the toss without getting nasty.
Now what is it you'd like to talk about ??

I thought my point about your lack of squad depth and the likelihood of you signing English players was valid of discussion and something you are not taking into account. Wanted to know what Chelsea fans thought.

As usual though Drogs has to resort to childish insults. He's ever so fond of going on everyone else's board and talking negative about other teams but can't seem to take it in return. Child.

You seem up for it so maybe you can answer my question. Do you really see Chelsea splurging out on foreign players given you don't really have a lot of options already outside the first 11 because of the 25 man squad limits. If you buy one will you have to remove someone from your 25(21) squad to still meet the 8+4 requirements?

Still a thick obsessive **** then <laugh>

Seriously, just stop posting here, nobody cares about your wum comments.

Wouldn't be surprised if Rafa decided to try and get Alonso given their past history. The midfield could do with an older player in with the youngsters and things are sounding rocky at RM so now could be a good time to get him.

Can't see you getting fellani unless you throw stupid money at Everton - he is crucial to their bid to get into the top 4.

I think the problem with European players coming is that if they are still involved in the CL then their clubs are unlikely to sell.

IMO you are unlikely to see "he who shall not be named" being given money to spend as it would be a lot which, if you get either Guardiola or Jose in the summer they are likely to want their own transfer kitty.

You must think that Everton are minted. They would sell for 15-20 million for sure.

No offence but this seems to be Chelsea's solution to everything, chuck money at the problem. Surely for the amount of money the club has spent over the past couple of years there are enough players on the books to actually try something innovative like working on building a team.

hhh i hope they sign someone .. that will be the last nail in their coffin kicking them out of CL (thanks to FFP)
trhey already signed many players, and almost out of CL .. hhhh last season they bought no one had 50m thanks to CL to have a pathetic 1m profit ..will love to see them explaining to UEFA how clubs is going in right direction when making big loss just after first year of making a profit

Maybe they'll think that they'd make more if they'd qualify for the CL... and they'd get 15-20 million next summer if they don't qualify.

I reckon he'd more likely cost you 25-30million simply as it's the Jan window

Alright lads!

Just before I start: Please do not turn this into a Rafa vs Di Matteo article, we have Rafa, let's just deal with it <ok>

Obviously things aren't going great at the moment, hopefully it's just a dip in form and
we can pick up from this and finish top 4 and win a trophy or 2 and finish with another
good season.

I do think we pretty much NEED 2 signings in January.
We're adapting our style to be a great footballing a team, this team needs a quality
centre midfielder who can pass the ball around and dictate the play.
We also need a centre forward who will score goals and win us games.

Here's 3 realistic options for both on who I think we should buy.

CM:
1. Fellaini.
2. Cabaye.
3. Moutinho.

CF:
1. Falcao.
2. Lewandoski.
3. Cavani.

Fellaini & Falcao would be literally perfect in my opinion.

Mikel & Ramires are good but they have no competition & Lamps, Romeu aren't good enough.

Torres is just awful. Maybe have him in the deal when we sign Falcao? If not he can just be sub till
the end of the season. Also Lukaku should stay on loan, he's getting a lot of first team football with
a good team and a great manager in Steve Clarke, he's only 19 and needs this for his development.

By the end of January our team should look like this:

Cech,
Azpilicueta, CB, Terry, A.Cole,
Ramires, Fellaini,
Mata, Oscar, Hazard,
Falcao.

Cahill, Luiz, Ivanovic = CB.

So.....do you think we should sign any one in January?

<ok>
Isn't Ashley off to PSG in January because he's too old ????

Difficult one to answer, but I'll give it a bash. Yes I do think we need to get in 2 more foreign players, because there are no English ones to do the job we need doing. Torres will be one that goes and personally I think Paulo Ferriera will also go ( pretty sure he's in the squad. If so, no change. We have a serious number of qualifying youngsters on loan and in our youth team , and several are poised to step into the squad when Lamps and Cole leave. A rare case of someone at CFC with some vision.
My guess is we'll be OK.

I'd love for us to get Witsel to dominate our midfield. Obviously need a striker too, Huntelaar and Llorente both have contracts that finish end of season. We should go in for one of them IMO as they both suit the way we want to play.

With Torres and/or Sturridge bound to leave in the next 6 months we need at least 2 strikers IMO. Huntelaar and Llorente are great shouts especially given the fees would probably be relatively minimal in comparison to say Falcao.

Seen that Llorente is definitely leaving 30th June but Bilbao could cash in before rather than lose him for nothing.

That means a Spanish international striker aged 27 could potentially be bought for under 10 million in Jan. We could sell Sturridge get Llorente and still have money spare. No brainer...surely.

Seen Hulk may also try and leave Zenit in Jan but I suspect even if he put in a request the money involved would rule out all bar probably PSG.
