I'm not a regular viewer at Wolverhampton but I see there have been 3 fatalaties there in the last couple of months (Crown Dependency, Rainestorm and Juarla). Is there any particular reason for that? Seems a lot for a flat track, or is it just coincidence?

They are closing the course for some work to be done this week odddy, that stat may have something to do with it.

The abandonment the other day was because the surface started sticking together forming balls, which is why they are cancelling night racing later in the week. They are trying to get the racing into an afternoon slot if they can.

I think the stats may be more about the amount of racing at the track rather than issues, but it is worrying that they are once again having issues with the All Weather.

Just seemed quite a high number for flat racing. Uttoxeter had 3 fatalaties in the same time-span but you'd expect higher casualty rates in the NH sphere (2 of the 3 actually collapsed and died after completing the course).

The 3 at Wolves all broke down during the race, all 3 in the home straight at or around the furlong pole.

Oddy, I think there are about half a dozen races in that Plumpers novice chase bonus scheme. Mr Henderson won the first one this term with Broadbackbob. I’m sure that as a result the forum’s favourite trainer will be targeting the Festival with this one as connections will find a further £60k in the + column should he oblige in Gloucestershire come mid-March. Consequently, I’d love to get a price from one of those bookie chappies re BroadbackBob obliging at the old Festival.

Today’s winner of the bonus race (Opening Batsman) you would imagine will be hard pressed to follow up at the Festival – you’d expect his likely opponents to bowl him over and his lack of ability to catch him out.
 
How many meetings did Wolves have in comparison to Uttoxeter though? I must say I haven't checked this, but I assume that it is the case that they have had more meetings and that if you compare the data over amount of races, it will be similar to the other AW tracks, and probably the turf flat season too.
 
Just Breathe got squeezed out of it at the start and shuffled back to near last. No chance after that but she ran pretty poorly thereafter. Wouldn't give up on her yet as she should hopefully come down 3 or 4lb for that
 
Nass - Wolverhampton had 11 fixtures in October and 10 in November
Uttoxeter just 2 fixtures in October and 2 in November

Its very easy to get boxed in at the festival and this can often leave the jockey a little stumped. Of course he has the option to bail out but you'd have to ba a hawkeye to spot that.
 
I say the forum has turned into a mouthpiece for terrible cricketing puns – are mine still winning though?!? Or have I been stumped by another correspondent?!?

22 in the Becher’s Brook Chase on Saturday, I see. That race should be little more than a passing concern though as surely all eyes will be on Mr Henderson’s big black aeroplane...watching him take flight and then soar away from his opponents.
