Torres and Coco, both RAs personal choices.
Stick to your day job Roman. As usual you have destroyed what was shaping up to be a great team, with your numbing impatience, pathological need for instant gratification, and utterly dire knowledge of all things football.
Talk about shooting yourself in the foot !!!! Don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Give him a chance? Two games, probably two points fewer than you'd expect. Hardly a disaster.

It's not that though... it's the way we are playing. We have been dire, dull and shocking tbh in the last two games

Did he seriously rest Mata? He's boring in the extreme. Thing is Liverpool fans will keep telling you he's great but he won't get your team really going for it and playing exciting football.

I think Roman Abramovich should be given the sack after making such a barmy appointment!

I don't think we've had one great chance to score in our last two games, so you can't pin it on players not being clinical enough.

He has clearly looked on from the outside and seen that he needs to shore up the defensive side of your game, but he has gone too negative. No balance. Or maybe it's a step by step mini-rebuilding job. Start with the defence and all that.

Being perfectly serious do you really think that RDM would have maintained a challenge for the top places because I don't? It was accepted that he'd be the first for the chop before the season started. He took you down a couple of notches in the PL last season and was doing the same again this season. Chelsea is too big for him.

Christ, Chelsea fans aren't half building a reputation for complaining. We got a taste of great football and title-esq form early season but all of that was papering over defensive cracks that Benitez is addressing. Can't stand him but he's doing his job. Build from the back. We don't have a prolific enough striker just to out score opponents like United can. Didnt want RDM to get the chop and I loved him to bits but sadly our sentents weren't shared by Abramovich, and I know I'll get a lot of hate, but RDM did not address defensive issues at all (even if his axe was hasty).

I'd be amazed if anyone hated Benitez as much as I do and I think he's a **** manager but

    A) He's had 2 games, not 20. He isn't a miracle worker, this team has problems which can be traced back to the 10/11 season.

    B) We've been playing poorly in more than just the last 2 games. Can anyone honestly say we were that much better v WBA, Swansea or Liverpool 2nd half?

    C) I expected a loss v City and a win v Fulham so for me personally that's only 1 point worse off.

    D) You can't lose games if you don't concede. If we score first we will most likely win 9/10. We need to get the balance right. As enjoyable as the football was under RDM the Spurs, Arsenal, United and even Liverpool games could have gone either way.

If we don't take at least 4 points from West Ham and Sunderland by all means blame him but the truth is we haven't been the same since the United game. This slump has happened for the last 5 seasons running now.

You were crap before that, lucky to have been up there with the big boys.

Still it must have sucked the wind out of your teams sails, such a clearly superior team like Chelsea getting beat by declining old United.

Beaten how? The only legitimate game between the sides this season was won by Chelsea.

We've been in decline since 08/09 but still won 1 CL, 1 PL and 3 FA Cups which is more than United.

Everybody could see that 11 v 11 Chelsea were better than United. Not that I care because the fact is you'll win the same amount as we will from this competition.

We have at least 3 realistic chances of winning silverware this season, United have 1, possibly 2 at best

He bought you guys Champions League trophies, Premier league titles, countless FA cup and League Cup titles and this is how you treat him. Chelsea would be terrible without him.

are you referring tothe cup game where Chelsea senior beat UTD youth at last ball of the game !!!<doh>
hh amazing you talk about 11X11, when i have to go to years back to see you beating us without a doggy decision .. yet we never complained or cried about it
hhh you have zero chance of winning PL or CL.. UTD can win both and FA as well.. at least have better chances than you guys

  16. I'm not going to wum, and I've promised Drogs that I will pare down my "Mad Dog & Coco" jibes, but I will say - and all joking aside - that Benitez is setting your team exactly as I thought he would - to play defensively. He did that with 'Pool, and when he had class players (and a younger Gerrard), he made it work for him, but still most people seem to have forgotten just how dull some of those 'Pool performances were, during the Benitez era.

I think setting Chelsea up to play defensive football is going to be a huge mistake, because it's not the Chelsea that any of us - supporters and neutrals alike - have come to expect or fear.

Also, how the hell is he going to get the best out of Torres playing like that?

Personally I think any manager would be shackled by the limitations in our squad esp in the forward line and until we can rectify Gourlay's absent-mindness in the summer we'll continue to shoot blanks.

In all honesty we owe our lofty position to a generous fixture list.....the games against City(shield), Athletico & Juve (h) gave us a hint of what was in store. I anticipate a dogfight for the last 2 CL places so I guess we'll have to hunker down and ride out the storm.

You are spot on regarding limitations in the squad. My point is that these will hopefully be addressed in January and /or seasons end. This would be the case with RDM still in the job.He showed us last year how he can get this team going, and with weaknesses addressed, I would have expected a sharp rise in form and good football. With this muppet we will get dull football and hopefully an improvement.
Thought RA wanted attractive football?? If so, he's got the wrong man.
