How old is he now? 45? No, it would be a regressive step. Let's bring in players with potential rather than ones at the end of their career.
Good player but I think we should be looking at getting bright young stars on permanent deals rather than 3 month loans.
No we really only want loans on a 'try before you buy' basis. Loan only is a no go for me. Need to strengthen for the future.
What would be the point. Who woulld be dropped Becks? Rosco? EHJ? Not seeing what he would bring to the party. another pacey winger and a hard tackling box to box midfielder are what i would like to see. Or Lionel Messi perhaps
Chippie man, you hit the nail firmly on the head. Competition has to be based on us looking forward. He's coming to the end of his career, & even in his pomp, he was only a decent player. He certainly wasn't worth the sum total of the millions various clubs paid for him. More to the point, who would he replace given that Somma will be pushing for a place in the very near future & Gray can't even get into the team?
As much as I would love Somma to come back the same player he was before, we can't be sure he'll ever be that good again, he's been out a long time...
Anyone who has actually watched Keane over the last few years, would know he's ****. He's far too slow now and does **** all in the game. I wouldn't want him anywhere near ER again.
People said the same about Phillips. Too old now, not quick enough He's only 32, younger than many and could have 7 more years in him if compared to KP. If he could give us 3 months service and propel us towards promotion, no sane person would reject that
