Good spot DJR, he looks a useful, experienced player. Malky must have him earmarked for left back.

Malky making good use of his connections. Hopefully he will be up for it and want to show what he can do, if only to either put himself back in the frame at Norwcih or become attractive to a prospective buyer in the January window.

I just hope he proves to be better than a previous left back we had on loan. Don't think I need to name him. <steam>

Lappin is a good choice. Thai should know more?

Anyone know how long Taylor's out for?

I think they said up to 2 weeks, Turner as well.

The name of the other loanee lb is best forgotten like he never happened.

No - bu££er all happened at LB when he who shall remain nameless donned the blue shirt - and that was the problem and the loanee keeper was sh!te as well.

afternoon bluebirds, hope you don't mind a visitor
Lappin is a true model pro, he can play either LB or LM. A little slow, but has very good crossing abilility. i think he played half a dozen times for us last season, but played quite a bit when we were in the championship. should add something to your squad.

good to see Malky is doing well, very well thought of in Norfolk <ok>

    Hi BS - brace yourself.

I know a number of our fans will disagree with aspects of what I am going to write.

Left sided player - yes, he can be and that is where he played most of the time for us but he is not a natural defender.
Left back - Sometimes but as we had Adam Drury playing there most of the time he played in midfield, Lappin was more of a fill in for the role but did it well enough when called upon.

Played a midfield role quite a bit but I was never totally convinced he was 'all that' but did show some good stuff at times.

Not a hope in hell of playing this season unless we are carrying lots and lots of injuries.

That is my honest appraisal and that is from L1 & the Championship. I hope he does well for you as it will improve our chances of off-loading him for slightly better money but I would doubt he would cost much if I am being perfectly honest. To my mind £1m would be excessive.

As I said, someone may come along and say the complete opposite but I have never really rated him that highly.

    Thanks guys, input appreciated.

I hope Max's comments are truer than Thai's. We shall see.

The slow bit is a little worrying though.

One word to sum him up would be "steady"

He is unlikely to let you down but he is not a game changer either.

So that means he'll be VERY slow for the Championship then. <ok>

I think that's what we are looking for Thai, we've got our game changers in mid-field and attack need someone steady in the back.

    max -

We've had a tradition of slow left sided players at the club recently.

Capaldi, Kennedy, Lloyd Samuel, Taylor, McPhail, even Whitts and Conway aren't blessed with pace.

No question Bellamy and Noone have changed that upfront, but behind them, you never needed flash photography - only time exposure blurred the image.

Lappin has nothing to fear here about his pace - he'll fit in no problem. <ok>

    the bbc say

'The ex-Scottish Under-21 international, who started his career at St Mirren, joined Norwich for £100,000 in January.'

january 2007 that is, how misleading! :emoticon-0112-wonde

its just an emergency loan, all we expect is that if needed to plug a gap he doesnt do anything silly and does a job.

Due to his lack of match practice and understanding of our style/tactics he could be left on the bench with Ralls starting.
Here we go again trying to second guess Malky's selections. The starting eleven at Barnsley will be interesting.
