Yet again outplayed a decent team and failed to make the most of our chances. Poor crossing and poor decision making in the last third. Is Rodgers the answer? Should have scored when put through in the first half and failed to pick a pass on 2 other occasions. Caught offside too many times.
 
Was he offside as often as the Lino thought though? The people in the West Stand blocks 13 didn't seem to think so, I can't judge as was in the south stand.

Tongue in cheek. Robinson obviously thought their performance deserved applause because he knew that MK Dons should have been buried by the front 2. In effect he was congratulating them for their profligacy.
 
Give the prodigal son a bit more time! He needs to get used to his partners at match pace not just in training. There are some forwards who are offside more than others. Some it's ineptitude, others it's speed, and the third category (as implied) is the crass nature of linos.

I have been to several games over the last three seasons where I have had the same view as the lino; behind him (or in one case her, but she was good!!) and near pitch level; many are good but some are shocking! They are either blind, bottle it or are inept. I know I have said this before but they are spoiling games for me. I have also watched live European and Premiership games; the speed is so high compared with our lower level stuff that I really sympathise with all the officials but still think they have room for improvement (particularly when it comes to the 'bottle it' category!)
 
Rodgers used to get called offside regularly when he was last with us and I believe it was down to his speed that the lino just called it due to Rodgers' position when the lino finally spotted him. Last night there were a few occasions where he looked onside when he started his run, but as I sit in Block 12 in the south stand then I cannot really make a true judgement.

I was side on for those calls and some were certainly right. But the beautiful through ball from Richards, I thought Rodgers was onside when that was played and he was one-on-one with the keeper with that. Like to see it again.

I think kasule's being mischievous. Karl Robinson was very honest in his comments, saying we'd "steamrollered" them for 60 minutes and that he was relieved to get a point they didn't deserve. I don't think he'd single out players for sarcastic praise. Morgan and Rodgers played a great game last night and earned sincere praise. Stop carping. :emoticon-0112-wonde
 
Not being mishievous. Rodgers is well past his sell by date and, in truth, he was when he left us. If we had sold him at the end of the relegation season, we would have trebled the money we would have got for him.
The Conference season was a big let down and I can only remember one decent goal he scored on our return to League Two.
 
once again town have victory snatched from them in the 91st minute against a top 6 club. let us be grateful for a revitalised our marv, wrighty right back on form and confidence sky high. now i wonder what has caused that? step forward luke rodgers whose inspiration appears infective. let us not carp but greatfully garner all the points available to keep us up.

Rodgers had a good game, the pressing from the front is a key part of our good performances so far this season and he's very, very good at it. He's given a big lift to the club as well, and is clearly a lot better than Gornell.
 
there is now doubt we will play a lot worse this season and win!!, my big problem is that we are not consistent enough, Marv was heroic last night, but what Marv is going to appear in our next game?....is this game a one off?...or the start of a good run.....Rogers lifted our cause last night, much more than anybody else who has come in, and also gave us another dimension up front....and its nice to see one of our forwards giving the linesmen horrors, at least we are chomping at the bit now. I went to the game with a loss in my mind, but came away gutted, i never thought for one minuet that we would dominate the match, but to come away with just one lousy point is gut wrenching.....but we are the right side of the drop line:biggrin:....one other disappointment was the crowd...i thought very poor for such a big game...:emoticon-0101-sadsm

I feared that might be true but thought the signing was a good one if only because it seemed to give most fans a morale boost. However, on the strength of the last two games I'd say Rodgers' signing is a good one on the basis of the form he's shown and the difference he's made to the team. So many times Morgan would have rounded the keeper and found nobody in position in the box - last night Rodgers was there. So many times our strikers have been caught offside with their back to goal, threatening little. At least Rodgers was being flagged while making runs into dangerous areas - and I'm not sure the linesman got all those right from where I was sitting. No, he's adding a dimension to our attacking play that was lacking. Not to mention that Morgan appears rejuvenated alongside him.

Past his sell by date? I'm not even sure he's past his best before date!
 
I am with you on this one Shrewd Chemic - I was rather underwhelmed by Rodger's signing but he has made a noticeable difference and is starting to build an effective partnership with Morgan. Many of the offside decisions were correct but Rodger's game is all about playing on the shoulder of the last defender and he has got behind defences more than any other of Morgan's strike partners. Neither Rodgers or Morgan is a clinical finisher but if they were they would not be playing in this league and I for one am very satisfied to see two strikers prepared to give their all for the team.
