I dont post much on here but i need to ask fellow stoke fans this? I notice a lot of stoke fans want tp out which is fair enough but who would come in and do a better job thoughts please. Also does anyone think wilson was worth the 10 million we actually paid for him? we gave pompey kitson 5.5 million we paid for the waste of space also lawrence who at the time was worth 2 million and we also paid pompey 2.5 million.
I'm getting pretty frustrated with Pulis recently, but haven't got as far as wanting him out yet! No way is Wilson worth 10 mil, but Kitson was nowhere near 5.5, if we'd sold him it would have only been for 1m I reckon. So that's 6.5 which he I think he could well be worth if he got chance to play his natural position.
Jowler i think tp got a job for life as long as the coates family own stoke city. I doubt he would get sacked even if he took us down.
Its difficult to determine who would or wouldnt do a decent job in the eyes of the fans, however I would suggest that there are many managers out there that could have done equal with the backing TP has recieved and by defenition making him only a below average manager. Wilson was never a 10 million pound player, but you are right - technically that is what he owes us. In short; no he is not worth that type of money, but it is hard to value him accuratley when he is not allowed to ply his trade to the best of his ability.
Smithers perfect answer mate cant argue with any of what u just said, people i talk to want redknapp i have to disagree most clubs he as managed then left end up in turmoil, i would not mind martinez.
it makes me laugh when people say that Redknapp left clubs in turmoil, the manager can only spend what the club is WILLING to spend!. Harry Redknapp is THE best English manager by a country mile and I would bite his hand off if he was to choose Stoke city. People always talk about how he has lost money for clubs but have any of you actually looked at players he has Bought and then sold for a massive profit?, dont believe everything that you read people, he got West ham into the top 7 in the prem consistantly on a much much tighter budget than Pulis has now!, he won the Fa cup with Portsmouth and saved them from relegation when everyone else had given up and then later in his career took Spurs from a team lying DEAD LAST in the prem into a team in the champions league,........................ oh and got Modric sold for about 35 million. Other than that he has done nowt..........................................................like I said best English manager of our generation. I would love to have seen what Harry would have done with England when we lost 4-2 the other night against Sweden because I guarantee we would not have lost that one. If you think that what Redknapp has done is bad then GOD KNOWS what you think of what Pulis has done!!.
I agree Ricc, think its unfair that Harry has been given this tag. Sacked from West Ham, decent spell at Portsmouth, left Southampton in a bit of ****, its not his fault what happened to Portsmouth after his second spell, if a club is run that badly financially there's not a lot league form can help change. And th only thing he did wrong at Spurs was letting the prospect of managing England go to his head! Also, mentioning other managers, Alan Pardew is doing very well, wouldn't mind him were he to leave Newcastle.
