I can't seem to find a definitive answer anywhere did the banner say c*nt or c*on? I've heard conflicting reports. Also a lot of rags describing it as racial abuse.. I'm holding out hope that surely no one at Millwall would be stupid enough to write c*on after everything that's happened to us recently, with us being vindicated and proving wild media allegations wrong..

    I hope <ok>

It was definately **** cunning, which is factually correct<ok>
Reports suggest the people arrested had nothing to do with that banner either, someone produced the banner people sitting around threw the banner to the floor unaware of what it said and then a good while later the people sitting in that section were arrested, another major **** up by Millwall it would seem.
Bottom line is Sordell was abused as he warmed up in a banterish way, he launched a 'fattist' insult at the young boy concerned, someone called him a 'brave ****' for giving it back and by time he started tweeting on the coach home he spiced it up a bit, Sordell is a lieing **** and that is what the banner should had read.

Whoever brought the banner out should know better. All the PC **** that's gone on recently, you'd expect the OB and the club to react. As for people who had nothing to do with it being chucked out, ****ing typical. This is the tip of the iceburg though, more to come from the Black Lawyers, The Club and the Press.

Slightly separate from the Sordell incident but while we are on the subject of swearing.

I raised a concern some while back when there was an incident that involved a fan alleged to have racial abused a player at Priestfield. I made a comment in an article that during that same game Steve Evans was referred to in terms as a fat c**t by a large section of the crowd. This chanting occurred several times throughout the game. I never once heard or read one critic of this behaviour in our so called family friendly environment.

Now in later debate it came across that the latter incident was more or less deemed acceptable within football grounds, I think it was put to me in a manner that people should be prepared for that language if they step inside a football ground.

I am not arguing that point and I do not care either way whether some one chooses to swear or not, however, the point I was trying to make was that the thought police and media were trying to take over complete control of social behaviour within our stadiums, contrary to the social environment outside. Now excluding racism from this topic, I stated it would probably only be a matter of time, maybe within the next decade that the thought police would have stopped anyone from swearing in football grounds. Calling someone a fat c**t would be deemed just as socially unacceptable within football grounds. So those that are the critics now also might need to take a closer look in the mirror at their own behaviour in say 10 years time.

    My thoughts were completely dismissed.

I added to later debates as what I saw as excessive policing of the working classes, everything from no standing, no smoking, no drinking within view of the pitch, high prices. Basically a destruction by successive governments and millionaires/billionaires of the working class and OUR game.

So despite that dismissal I find it ironic that if what Ringo states is true, we did not have to wait that decade before the thought police have moved to the next stage of social behaviour. Maybe this was in the form of a banner but whether through verbal exchange or banner is it not much the same thing?

My words above are not meant to be in relation to a comparison with racism.

    Absolutely spot on Roy.

As I mentioned in another thread, why not just put the games on TV and CGI the fans in.

i think if the banner showed the word **** then they were right to have removed the banner, many other words could have been chosen and possibly accepted <ok>

women are very often and rightly so offended by the word, whilst most other words are usually accepted in many social places pubs, clubs, football stadiums, etc.<ok>

That's what gave me the hump about the whole "Terry - Ferdinand" Saga. Surely the offensive word in the term black ****, is ****. A word both players admitted to using. Anton used it to insinuate John Terry was somewhat unscrupulous with his team mates wives (a personal attack) but only one player was punished. Anton's brother referred to Ashley Cole as a "choc-ice" an exact racial slur based on nothing but that. Race. He was fined a pittance by his standards and let off. If i call you a fat **** it's not because I have deep rooted problems with people over a certain weight, it's because I want to upset you and by the looks of you, you are both fat, and a ****. Hence the term, "fat ****" <ok>

The yellow smiley with the afro causes me offence. Take it off or you're banned.

For the time being all attention is focused on any chant or insult that is racial. If we must get pissed of at another opposition player can we please ensure that they are white to avoid any interference from the black lawyers. Obviously any fan who isn't white better not join in ;)

On sat some player was being called Saville due to his hair. Now I know it was just being said as 'banter' but personally I would take more offence at being compared to a ***** than a reference to my skin colour.

Surely the self styled "Black Lawyers" are racist? If I started a law firm called "White Lawyers Only" would that be acceptable? :)

Also lads, quick side note, make sure when referring to the wives and girlfriends of the England players, you use the term "WAG's" I used an abbreviation for wives OR girlfriends once.. Got me in a whole heap of trouble.. <ok>
