As Gerrez has mentioned earlier, we don't know exactly what Rodgers wants:

a) A natural goal scorer, poacher who does his damage in the box
b) Inside forwards who can create, change to any position in the front three

At the moment, I sense that BR sees Luis as the main striker (CF) and he has played brilliantly as the false number 9 and will probably continue there. The problem are the inside forwards - Sterling, Suso, Downing etc are good at creating the chances and driving towards the goal but if Suarez is the one creating the chance, then the aforementioned players don't have the strikers instinct to get into the right position and fill the vacant space created by Luis.

IMO - I think we'll be bringing in at least two attacking players. I hope we bring one natural goal scorer who is restricted to the box and the other is an inside forward, which will boost our options and give us another dimension hopefully. An example would be David Villa as the inside forward and Soldado as the natural striker (I'm not saying these are targets or realistic signings, but I'm using them as the example of the type of player we need).

That's been the problem for the last couple of seasons, obvious apparently to everyone but those who can change the situation, no out and out striker, a lack of options upfront and limitations in link-up / connective play, we don't transition very well from that build up play, between the halfway line and the goal area, into the opposition box. Our midfield and defence isn't the problem, both seem to be in very good health.

A Cabaye?

Cabayee would do the trick nicely.

I just read that Flamini's contract at Milan expires this summer. He is a good DMwho can also cover in the back 4.

But he also spent the whole of last season injured and is only on a 1 year contract at Milan despite being only 28. He took a pay cut there to.

So, it would be a big gamble. But if Lucas keeps his fitness well, maybe it wont be so heavy on Flamini.

Flamini? I prefer Victor Waynama from Celtic. He's only 21 and is in contract dispute with Celtic, he's also only valued at £8 million and would be a fantastic buy.
Here is what Brendan has had to say on what he needs.
I'm going to high-light in bold the key words.

Brendan Rodgers:

“We need one or two more players, it’s as simple as that,” Rodgers said. “That was our sixth draw, and in a lot of those games we’ve come back from being behind.

“We’ve got great character and resilience and survival instincts in the group, and we’re dominating games with the ball – but you need materials.

“Luis just needs that support of instinctive goalscorers. If we can hopefully get one or two in January who can help us at the top end of the field we’ll turn draws into wins.”

Brendan uses the words ''instinctive goal-scorers''. To me that suggests that he wants either strikers that play on the shoulder of the last defender or goal-poachers. Or maybe one of each. Its my opinion that Luis Suarez would thrive alongside both types.

He also said the Borini signing would 'excite the fans' <ok>

.

Wagamama would be a great buy but not sure where your getting the 8 million from, I live in Scotland and lennon was in the papers 2 weeks ago claiming he was worth 25 million. Very steep I know, and probably saying it to put people of, but I would be amazed if anyone got him for 8 million.

A host of Premier League scouts attended Vitesse Arnhem's 0-0 draw with FC Twente on Sunday.

De Telegraaf says Liverpool, Everton and Wigan Athletic were all represented.

On show was Vitesse striker Wilfried Bony and teammate Marco van Ginkel, who is interesting the Reds.

.

His wiki page:

Bony started his professional career at Issia Wazi in the Côte d'Ivoire Premier Division and played in the CAF Champions League.[citation needed] He scored 6 goals in 16 matches at the club. He was on trial at Liverpool FC in 2007 but was not offered a contract.

Typical <ok> We'll probably sign him and Tom Ince for a combined total of £20m in January even though we could've had both for free if we'd been a bit more intelligent.

My favorite is Alou Diarra, at the club for two years and we never played him, not once. Went on to become the French captain, playing for Lyon, Marseille, etc and one of the better CDM's ( in his prime) in the world. <doh>

Anthony Le Tallec is doing pretty well in the french league. He was another that had so much promise.

Arsenal are reportedly interested in Zaha which could pave the way for Walcott to leave ...

Unfortunately for us, Chelsea are also interested in Walcott.

But then again, Chelsea are interested in Zaha as well ...

Which could mean Sturridge leaves them to join us ...

Reminds me of the time where every striker coming through the Everton academy were definitely going to be better than their Liverpool counterparts.

Michael Branch better than Fowler, Francis Jeffers better than Michael Owen etc <laugh> <ok>

Even now, its still happening. Ross Barkley is going to be better than Steven Gerrard, then he gets loaned out to Sheffield Wednesday <laugh>

The best of the lot comes from Manchester United fans. Wayne ''I bottle it in big games because I have personal problems which consist of me humping a £2000 a night slut'' Rooney is better than Luis Suarez.
