I had to go shopping in the aforementioned store today opposite CCS...'cos I was starving.

My Uncle Bertie was going shopping today, don't know if he went there though! I blame sugar for the problem.

I walked through their car park yesterday and noticed the time limit parking signs had gone. Wasn't pi$$ed but was I right or just dreaming?

If so, nice easy free parking but a bu££er to get out of after the game.

Wouldn't shop there even if someone threatened to cut my balls off, sautee them in garlic and force feed them to me.

Swamp. it was just over 10 years ago in the Cardiff Bay Asda. My brother was driving into Asda when the "security" gate swung into his car and killed him. The gate was supposed to have been padlocked open when the store opened and checked every couple of hours. The person who "locked" the gate said they had, the person checking said they had checked it was locked open but it still swung shut at 3 in the afternoon!

I remember that Taff. I thought it was dreadful that no one was considered responsible at the time and my views haven't changed.

So sorry for you and your family mate.

Thanks Blue, it took 8 years for the verdict in the coroners court because the police treated it as a road traffic accident in the first instance, they eventually opened a criminal investigation but by then it was too late. All the internal machinations of an international company made sure everything was concealed. The coroners inquest showed how much they were willing to lie and hang each other out to dry. They had 7 barristers and my sister in law decided she wanted to fight them alone. She still won the case even with their high-flying lawyers. They immediatley requested a judicial review but that, thus far, has not happened. The police had to reopen the criminal proceedings but by then too much time had elapsed and the person responsible has not been held to account because of lack of evidence!

tragic, cant imagine how it felt (and still feels) for you and your family.

faceless corporations are like this, i saw a case with mcdonalds where their negligence caused someone to need round the clock care for the rest of his / her life, they did everything they could to avoid having to pay out any money.

Swamp, luckily his girls are coping well due to their young ages when he died. Sadly they (as well all do) see the Asda stores and TV commercials.
JH, my brother had his home in Pernath, we're rom Llanedeyrn originally.
MM, no worries, even today seeing Asda anywhere brings the memory of what happened to the forefront of our minds, it will never go away but we just crack on.

Sorry to read that Taff - I remember it well, especially as we use that store quite a lot, as well as others in the same complex - I live in Dinas Powys. Your feelings toward Asda are entirely understandable.
