A better performance today but a few failed to stand up and be counted. I think there will be a few changes. So here is what I would go with Schmeichel De Laet Keane Morgan Schlupp Lingard King Drinkwater Dyer Nugent Waghorn Subs- Logan, Moore, Whitbread, Knockaert, Marshall, Wellens, Vardy
More chance of Wellens then Danns coming in. He has been playing, in favour with Nigel and he knows the Ipswich teams strengths and weaknesses
I think King did OK today, mainly in a defensive sense admittedly. He really does pressure the opposition into making errors at times. Proud, I see you've left Whitbread out. Not just because of the wrongly given penalty I hope. His challenges do look a bit scruffy at times, perhaps he just needs to settle down a bit. I think I'd stick with him until St Ledger is back. I thought Schlupp was awesome at full-back today! Further evidence that an established striker has got it be our main target.
Not because of the peno no. It was never a peno. I think Sean St. Ledger has been a big miss this season. We have looked very solid when he has played. We let 2 goals in today, albeit it 1 was a peno which never was. The main reason I would swap Whitbread is because I dont think he could cope with DJ Campbell or Emmanuel Thomas' pace.
An out of sorts Ipswich, I'm pretty sure we've been here before and I'm pretty sure we didn't win that game either! Curse our luck! I hate to say but I feel some sort of human sacrifice may be needed to appease the football gods, Charlie are you busy.....
The Wellens loan is bizarrely timed it has to be said. Even if he plays no part he will know all the weaknesses (of which there are many). Games are coming thick and fast at the moment at just the right time for Town.
Bizarrely timed? In what way? He isn't good enough to play much of a role here anymore. Don't expect his to give you many secrets about us- firstly, he's still a Leicester player so it would be extremely unprofessional of him to do so, secondly he hasn't been involved this season so knows nothing anyway. Not sure about the many weaknesses - we have one, we aren't converting the many chance we are creating. We have the second best defense in the league, better than any other team in the top six. Games are coming thick and fast? Not really, we have over a week between matches. Just the right time for Town? If you mean we have loads of injuries you may be right, but you need a handicap - we've been great at home and you're terrible home and away. Apart from that, excellent post.
Richie Wellens returns here on the 16th and the game is on the 17th. More then likely he will be back here tommorow as neither team has any game in the week
In my opinion, we HAVE to win this game if we want any chance of promotion. Should have beaten Forest, but were very unlucky, especially Waghorn with his chances. But we can't rue bad luck again, this is a must win game already
Defiantly a must win. If Wellens was still with you for this game, theres probably a clause to say that he wouldn't be able to play against us anyway. As for knowing the strengths/weaknesses, you have only recently been under MM control, so would prob have picked up very little inside information.
This would have been a game where we wouldn't have expected to get much from but that was before MM arrived
He's been getting rave reviews from Ipswich - he is also stripping a lot fitter .. shed a few... very good technical player but does give us a connundrum ... King or Drinkwater ... Drinkwater has been pretty consistently good but AK is far more of a goal threat than RW or DD ... personally I think NP won't change it because all bar not getting the rub of the green in terms of decisions, we would (and should) have beaten Forest
