OK, it has to be mentioned.

Fraser Forster. Wow lad, you have really come into your own up north. He looks like an incredible keeper, and worthy back-up to Joe Hart on the international scene.

To be honest, I wouldn't say there's very much between him and Krul at all...

I agree, it always looked like he was a good keeper but i think its clear that you need to pick a keeper and stick with them. Good on Forster, did we sell him outright in the end or is he still on long term loan? I think we sold him but not certain.

Don't be so silly. It's one performance.

It was always tight between him and Krul, but we couldn't have two first choice keepers - they both deserved to start, so I didn't mind Forster leaving despite the fact he was a huge loss to us.

He's a good keeper and we also had Alnwick at the same time. Hard lines on both of them that we had such a dearth of good good keepers.

Whatever. Krul has been immense for the best part of 2 seasons. Forster has only just started to come good. Give Forster a season, then compare him to Krul. Random performances are something that any player can put in.

Consistency is what makes you worth it.

Don't comment on things you know nothing about, Forster has been amazing in the SPL for 2 years aswell <ok>

OP, when Harper was our first choice I wanted Forster long term, happy we chose Krul in the end but I certainly thought Forster was the better keeper at the time.

I wasn't sure about Forster the first year in the SPL - I certainly wouldn't have broke the bank to keep him after the loan. But he's been man of the match two times in a row against Barcelona, even a doubter has to appreciate that.

Forster has proved himself twice against Barcelona , Krul tries to prove himself against Mickey Mouse teams from the over rated epl .You gave away a world class goalie for 2 million , just admit your club made a mistake .

but you are forgetting that Krul plays against top class opposition every week so can therefore hone his skills..... Forster plays against the dog and duck 11 each week in a poor one team league and once in a blue moon get's to paly against a decent team and therefore raises his game.

not doubting the lads ability at all Mick.
He will be a top keeper for years to come. I feel he has to get out of Scotland though to show what he can do against top teams week in week out.

Krul plays against top class opposition every week !!!! Norwich , qpr , reading , Southampton , west ham ,Sunderland, Fulham , Swansea, stoke , Aston Villa , Liverpool all these team are awful other than spending millions on over rated players and paying them thousands of pounds a week . Give me the young and upcoming player any day of the week we see in Scotland .

All of these teams would have a chance of winning the SPL haha.

Forster is a good little keeper and should have retained him, although I'm sure MA would have put a buy back clause in the transfer agreement.

Yes, Krul does play against these teams, but he also gets to play against the likes of Man. City, Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea, and Man. Utd, as well as the Europa league games.

Great to see him do well. He is a sound lad by all all accounts and badly needed to be playing football, something had to give in the end because he was behind Krul. I'm still happy we kept the right one in Krul but there is not a fanny hair between them at present. Certainly worthy of a chance with England, as is Hooper. The SPL is no where near as bad as some would have you believe. And at Celtic he is guaranteed to be involved in massive CL games every season.

Good luck to him, it worked out well for all parties.

You are seriously suggesting that Forster plays against better opposition every week in the SPL?<doh>

Comparing Forster and Krul is acceptable. Comparing the SPL to te real premier league is not acceptable. It's actually laughable. 1 decent side in a league of 12 teams.

Celtic was my game of choice last night, yet again Forster was outstanding, I've watched him playing several times, no way was his performance a 'One Off'.
Forster thoroughly deserves all his accolades, he deserves to be playing first team football, and he's not only getting that at Celtic, but European experience as well!
