A relief even though it was pretty much a foregone conclusion. Popular vote has gone to Barack too.

I'm so pleased. It really would have been a backward step to elect Romney, and listening to some of his supporters it's a relief their views won't be the ones setting the agenda in America.

Didn't this used to be a football forum? What on earth has yank politics got to do with the saints? What is the point in having a sticky thread for off topic posts when guff like this is going to be posted?

226 posts and you're the first to complain. Don't you feel proud? I'll apologise on the behalf of the many active users of this thread, I know that one single thread that doesn't interest you is really hard to deal with, but I'm sure you'll find some way to cope.

Congratulations America, you picked the correct candidate. We knew you'd come through in the end!

And, as an added bonus, New Hampshire agreed with Hampshire (or at least, the Southampton region).

you may wish to change your nick to something more appropriate. I say again, perhaps someone could explain why there is a sticky for off topic threads when guff like this is allowed? We get bombarded with yank politics everywhere else...I would have thought at least a football forum should be spared

We should all hang our heads in shame at this thread. It never purports to be anything but off-topic. It's clear what it is.

It's been allowed to stay as it's a pretty one-off topic itself. I think the mods handled it well.

But no, we are all wrong. I apologise that it has clearly upset you.

Because, maybe, this is a thread that was only ever going to last a few days, is of major world importance, is of interest for people to discuss and because one isolated thread doesn't harm anybody? Why on earth are you so aggravated by it?

In defence of SaintJabie the OP:
    1. This was a poll, so needed a separate thread.
    2. It has been on here for almost exactly 48 hours and has attracted 231 posts.
    3. It wasn't stickied but has stayed on the front page ever since it was posted.
    4. I expect now the election is over it will attract less interest and disappear.

You didn't have to look at it Steve!

The thing is Steve you can choose not to go on this thread. I think it was allowed to live its own life in the first place because it was created as a poll, it has also been a very popular thread and brought posters over from other boards to comment (which they wouldn't have done if it were not obvious, i.e. within Beefs corner). It will probably be closed or moved to Beefs now its over so chill, there's plenty of other threads about Saints.

I was expecting to wake up this morning and discover that Obama had remained president. I would have been surprised if Romney had won. It is very handy for the Democrats that they will get the 55 votes from California every time for the foreseeable future.

I wonder if cameron will get elected next time - I think that ukip may split the tory vote; clegg will be replaced as leader of the liberal party in an attempt to win back support, and labour will say anything to raise their proportion of the vote.

How does this thread get to stay on the main board for over a week yet my very informative thread regarding animal hospital got moved to beefys in a matter of minutes. Surely rolf deserves more respect from our illustrious leaders.
