I'm more fearful of City personally, played rubbish but still unbeaten. When they click into gear that could be a frightening set up. If they had a better manager they'd win the league at a canter.

I still am unconvinced by United, as I am with us.

Overall It's been a decent start considering we're only a point behind United having played much tougher fixtures (on paper) after 10 games.

When Marin comes into the side and we get Mata fit we should be alright. If we had a striker I'd go out on a limb and say it would easily be us or City for the title but we don't. Gourlay screwing us over again.

Do you think United have "clicked into gear" yet?
Out of ten games we have played Chelsea, Arsenal. Liverpool and Newcastle and beat them all, not really a soft start!

Yep. I don't consider the Liverpool or Chelsea games as difficult because there was such a handicap in both games and refereeing deciding them. I was more impressed with how United dealt with Newcastle.

Anybody could have beaten Arsenal on that showing yesterday. ANYBODY (in the PL)

Just seen the good side of Suarez for a change. Some goal! If you're not watching, catch it on MOTD2 tonight.

  14. Okay, so WBA are above us, but at least we share the same number of points. They are also above Arsenal, and 2 points ahead of them.

PESKIE cannot be happy about that.

Clyne was at the club for about 4 years, if I remember right.
He left because the journeys to training were taking him too long, as he's from South London.

I hate to say it, but I think you guys look really good this season. if you manage to keep the littl'uns fit, they will continue to run rings round everyone. but then again as everyone quite rightly points out, we're only 10 games in.

Very excited to see Marin, too. I was gutted when he went to Chelsea. He's the 1 player in the last few years that I really felt was a "spurs" player/signing.

You lot better play him!! we could really do with someone like him right now. - not injured obviously. <laugh>

The 21 year old right back was once on course for a career with Tottenham until he tired of the long, fiddly journey across London to train with the club's other young hopefuls.

He explained: " I signed for Spurs on schoolboy forms when I was 11, but I was from South London (Stockwell) and Tottenham's training ground was in North London (Chigwell).

It meant having to take two or three different trains for a journey which took about an hour and a half each way. It took a big chunk out of the day and after three years I decided to go for something a bit nearer home".

The switch from Tottenham to Crystal Palace was made when Clyne was 14 and he has no regrets. "Going to Palace meant I got my chance of first team football that much quicker", says Clyne who by the time he'd reached the age of 18, had become a Palace regular.

And just to prove a point, the likes of Andros Townsend, Adam Smith and Ryan Mason, who were with Clyne in those days at Tottenham, are still striving to get a foothold in the Tottenham first team.

Taken from the Southampton matchday programme for our game there 10 days ago.
