Leaning towards Mount Athos for leg 1 of the cross-hemisphere double. Hope I don't jinx it for you Jongleur.

I'm hoping victory for Luca's runner will give the ozzie cameramen the excuse they need to show gratuitous shots of Francesca Cumani - never a bad way to start a tuesday.
 
Luca certainly talked his horse up big-time in the Racing Post ,today...it is a stronger field than last season..I was given Red Cadeaux when he was 16/1...as short as 8/1 now...but still no guaranetee of a first four finish...though he is not badly drawn there !
 
Think the market have this, toss up between Mount Athos and Americain for me.
 
interested to know where cyc's shekels, if at all, are going. Remember you said this is one of the races you sometimes dabble in.
 
Right guys, simply cannot be overlooking GREEN MOON for the Melbourne Cup. His comeback run after 400 odd days out was beautiful over 7f, and he then ran a couple of crackers to head to the Cox Plate as favourite. He was badly outpaced that day and kept on to make steady late headway. I think he is the one who will be steaming home late and if he has a trouble-free passage he is the horse for me. Nicely weighted- very live outsider.
