What's the betting it comes next weekend?!?

Stoke are usually the ones to give a team a leg up when they need it!

    I hope I'm wrong!!

I sincerely hope you are wrong but like you say we have been very charitable to the needy in the past. Stoke must win on Saturday or we will find ourselves in the relegation dog-fight. We have to score to win of course so we need to start converting chances. It could all depend on team selection and tactics. Owen and Etherington need to be on from the start and we have to play the game in their half.

Egg Zacktly Jowler, from what I heard from me mates. Yesterday had we taken the 3 great chances we would'nt be bricking it right now.
At least I can't listen to the game next week.

I will howver be well and truly on the beer, 3 valium then about 5:00 p.m. take a looksee at the local tv. Either way I doubt I will really give a toss should the worst happen.

    Potts,

if he put the right players on the pitch we wouldn't be limited to 3 chances. Walters couldn't score in a brothel if he had 2 grand in his pocket (pinched that one from a Mr Holloway) and "that man" talks a good game but that ain't what the rest of us are seeing.

Interesting stats Smithers, I wasn't aware we were identical to QPR - and 7 wins from 38 games is not good (for a team supposedly well estabilshed in the PL) and in no apparent danger. I think TP is rather protected by PC. Hughes I am not so sure he would be as well supported by his chairman.

Hughes has the excuse that he is late into the role having joined at Xmas where as TP has had the continuity and design over his full squad for an extended period of time, however they are both piss poor records either way. I was scoffed at when I referred to Bruce's sacking on 4 wins in 21 games, (for us) 7 in 38 prem games and 5 in the last 36 doesn't seem so scoff able now.

Having said that, the sentinel piece with Coates unwavering praise and commitment to TP made me physically sick!

    Excuse?
Sorry but Pulis no longer has one! That is why he's complaing more and more. As much as I dislike Mr Wenger, at least he knows when he's selected the wrong team etc... As for Mr P out of luck maybe, out of ideas certainly, out of a job. I WISH. Sick to death of the crap we take from other fans tbh.
Can any of us really blame them? I really don't think we can. And I for one will give it "this season" then unless there is massive changes OFF the pitch SCFC will not be getting another cheque for a S/T from me. It's NOT the player's. It's Pulis. I think we've defended him for far too long lads.

Who else is thinking like me?

    Evening lads
It would seem that Pulis is like part of the furniture at Stoke these days, he's probably a victim of his own previous success, after all, and as much as i cant stand the prat, he has done an amazing job for you when you think how far you've come in the last 8 or 9 years.
To sack him now, which would probably be the right thing to do, would freshen the club up, but it would be like shooting your own pet dog !!

    Chippy
Amazing? no just a good job is all. Do you not agree that ANY Manager with half a brain could have done likewise? We made the FA Cup final that was brilliant.

    Here are the but's Chippy.
    1. Because of clueless Pulis for some reason. We did'nt even turn up and give Man City a half decent game did we. It was also one of easy draws for the most part.
    2. Why you may ask after totally outplaying and wait for this out footballing what was, a very good Bolton side in the Semi Final. He bottled it played for us not to lose. We never (had a go at Man City)
    3. Yes has kept us in the Premier League by playing the most ... negative/boring/hoof it half the time soccer I have seen in 52 years of watching SCFC

I actually enjoyed the lower leagues and no one was more excited when we SCFC finally made the promise land as some call it.

    4. We DO have the right player's Pulis has signed them and contrary to what you yourself might think Chippy. Re our conversation last night. We (have occastionally) over the last few season's actually played football for 90mins.

    5. The problem I have is simple enough. Fans some of them Norwich fans ask me and all the other lads on here. Why do we watch that crap every week. I'll tell you why Chippy. Because we LOVE our club and everything it stands for. NOT the Manager. Because of this (love, passion call it what you will Chippy)

I get totally P***** OFF trying to explain to rival fans as to why we watch it. We are born Stoke fans, we did'nt choose Mr Pulis to be our Manager and I hope he leaves sooner rather than later.
And fianally, I am sick to death of other fans posting (ill informed comments) You want just a few examples of what fans say to us..

    Hoofer's
Hacker's who don't give a **** who they injure or mame.
Pulis sends out our player's to injure.
Pulis tells our player's to kick anything and everything.
Are player's are all THUG'S which isn't the case.
    He's a baseball wearing CNUT.
We are an embarassment to (this league) which is bollox excuse the French.
And finally the "If I had to watch that every week I would support another team.

I could go on Chippy, we've heard it and read it on this board since day one.

So take it from me, whilst I appreciate (what Pulis has done so far) He has shown for the last 2 season's he simply can not (hack it)
Tactically inept, playing the wrong player's, buying very good player's and then slowly but surly hacking many Stoke fans off.

I have seen it, done it with Stoke City FC, as have a few Stokie's on this board. I want no more of his crap system, good player's sitting on the bench or worse still, being sold/loaned out to another club...

Pennant? is by a long way our best right winger. Just one example of a Manager who for some unknown reason seem's to think that he needs to go out on loan.

So in a nutshell, I will be a Stoke fan until my toes curl, and will pay to watch certain games next season. Should Pulis still be here God forbid what Sir Stanley Matthews who I watched a few times and the late Tony Waddington would make of Mr Pulis.

So now you know why we say we don't care what other fans think of us (the fans) most fans of the big prem teams would not know what a real fan was if it smacked them square in the face.

First big rant for ages over.

    I disagree with you all:
Look where we were 7 years ago
    Look where we are now
Look how far we have come.

There is an element of truth in that.Sadly teams like ours don't necessarily have the luxury of playing pretty football. Our board has been full of criticism for Stoke after Saturday's match but I have to say Pulis has delivered the goods.I can understand the dissatisfaction but that needs to be tempered by the fact that he has consistently kept you up without huge resources.

I appreciare your positive and constructive comments and you are right to a point. However, his has spent the best part of 100 million and was the 3rd highest Net Spending manager up to the last window - I would say that was significant resources.
