By major I mean League, EC, or FA Cup. Charity shield or capital One do NOT count. Arsenal have waited since 2005 Liverpool since 2006 Spurs since 1991
None of them will win the EC anytime soon (or in my lifetime), none will win the PL either. I went for Liverpool. No matter how **** they are there is still a winning mentality deeply ingrained in the club, they did well to win a cup and get to a final of another with that poor squad last season. At Anfield in a one-off game you'd still fancy them against anyone. They have more mettle to them than Spurs or Arsenal, put those two away in a compact ground up North on a cold Saturday Night and they wouldn't fancy it, even less so for a replay. Spurs and Liverpools best chance to win a major trophy (by your definition LF) was last season when Spurs faced off against a Chelsea side that would have been focused well and truly on Barcelona, and still conspired to lose 5-1. Most bookies had Liverpool down as favourites, with our busy schedule and poor squad it should have been easily winnable for them.
Liverpool couldnt win an argument at the moment! Spuds or Gooners? I cant see a trophy for either at the moment! Maybe next year!
Gretna have more chance of winning those 3 trophies last season than either of those clubs have of winning any of them any time soon
The scousers are worse than they were last season. And that takes some doing. They have appointed a manager to a position above his competence. No trophies for the f**king scousers anytime soon as the manager and players are just sh1t
How about either Norwich City or Swansea City as an outside bet for the League Cup? Not entirely beyond the realms of possibility, with both of them with a great chance of going through to the semi's now (could even end up playing each other so one of them could make the final) Can't rule it out from a major trophy - it's an avenue in to Europe for heavens sake and I bet you guys would take it if denied all other possibilities
I love London's only ... I wanna think he's an arrogant git but his articles crack me up.... as for an answer ... not us unfortunately and I can't see either of the others winning them either
As a neutral I like what Rodgers is trying to do at Liverpool - it will take time to bed in (and a couple of forwards like Huntelaar)
Roy Rodgers is the worst manager 'Pool has had in its entire history. Don't take my word on that, just look at the stats! 'Pool has an average team with one stand-out player. But, let's face it, if Suarez was at a decent club, he'd blend in an become anonymous; he stands out at 'Pool because he is their only decent player. Watching 'Pool's spiral into obscurity is both fascinating and hilarious, because the Mousers have not yet had their delusions beaten out of them.
I voted for the Spuds as they don't get much bless them and they always seem to try every other year.
Could be any of them but can only see any of them winning the FA Cup in say the next 5 years without major investment. The C.L and P.L just aren't realistic targets in the short to mid term (although apparently next year will be Liverpool's year).
It is funny that the scousers fans dismiss Spurs as not being their true rivals. They are looking at teams above. The reality is that these deluded fans have yet to grasp that they should be looking at the likes of Wigan, Norwich, QPR, Reading as theiur true rivals. They think they are too good to go down But other teams will soon latch on the fact that if they neutralise the lowlife cheat the scousers have no one to score a goal.
I have a thread running on the Spurs board that is devoted to this very topic. It's hilarious, because it is the kind of balanced, objective, non-wumming thread that be banned instantly on the Mousers' own board. it drives the Mouser-guests mad, because we normal fans who contribute to that thread do not permit the Mousers to hide behind their delusions. Suarez like Messi - ffs!!! What was Roy Rodgers on, when he said that? Can I have some, please?
