i just don't know about owen, to expensive salary? reckon if he could get a run somewhere, he could knock a few in, but i'm still not sure, mind i'm not dismissing it.
No way could Owen expect the salary that he once used to command, he's been on the slide for too long now.
Are they having a laugh Owen has done precisely nothing at both the barcodes and Man Utd, too old too injury prone would want big money and all this to feed his real ambition of getting back into the England squad. He is like Bent without the goals in that respect.
apart from owen there is misislav klose, striker-bayern, taye taiwo, l/b-marsellie sylvian marveaux, l/m-rennes andrea pirlo, c/m-ac milan philippe mexus, c/h-roma johan elmander, f/w-bolton some real interesting names there, maybe want big salaries, but if there's no transfer fee's, maybe some to look at...
Taiwo or Elmander would be amazing! I'd love Pirlo and Klose as well, but I think their salaries would be too high, and there would be so much interest from other clubs, I don't think they've even heard of Sunderland!
Injury-prone Owen is indeed, and that's something we dont need any more of at our club. However with no fee, the only risk would be wages, so if we could get him on pay-as-play, I'd take him. I'd like to think he'll be in the frame of mind where he just wants to play and score, and the money wouldn't be too important- maybe a bit naive of me though. Injury prone yes, too old? Younger than Klose and Pirlo for sure.. Younger than Lampard, Drogba, Anelka etc as well.
Seb Larsson is a must in the summer for me. Great crosser of the ball. Maybe he could teach Hendo a thing or two.
I liked them all at one time or another, but would any come to the SOL, be interesting to see where they end up though.
