Forget any investigation, Old Red Nose says he doesn't believe Clattenberg said anything to Mikel, so that's that. Naturally, no one is in a better position to judge than Clattenbergs' employer. SAF asks if the money saved from not needing an investigation, can be sent instead to the Man Utd Slush Fund for Bunging Referees , Old Trafford. Seriously , what the hell has this got to do with that drunken slimer??????? Or any one, other than the parties involved ??? Wenger, Warnock and the rest are obviously simply trying to stir things up and prejudice Chelseas' complaint. If the FA had any credibility, all its members would be banned from comment on an ongoing matter , as in a proper Court case. Now, where are all those Kangaroos, they will be needed again.
Sporting matters are not subject to the same constraints as a civil case where any comments prior to a trial could viewed as being prejudicial to the case and could be held up for contempt. That being said I think Wenger's comments are more on matters of procedure as opposed to Ferguson's exercise in "thumb-nosing".
CP- When you're top of the class like CFC, you become a target from all those that want to take your place! Let them fire their bullets! At the end of the day, if they want to rise above us they will have to work harder , play better or belt up!
Think Bluemoon2 was talking about the step up from the middleing class that is England, to the upper class that is the Champions of Europe.
To be honest I see no difference in what SAF has said to what the then England manager said about Terry. Everyone should keep their mouths shut re guilt or innocence until after it's been investigated. I hope it's not true 'cos it'll be a disgrace if it is I hope it's true 'cos it'll be a disgrace if the allegation is a lie THERE IS NO WINNER IN THIS unless there is a plausible reason how it was all a mistake which just ain't gonna happen
Despite the obvious bias betrayed by this thread, I cannot believe that any reasonable fan - or any Chelsea fan, for that matter - believes one word of the allegation leveled against Clattenberg. I am more prepared to believe that this is malicious, spiteful tactics on the part of your mad-dog Russian oligarch owner and a handful (but not all) of your players, telling lies to undermine a ref, merely because he had the temerity to make a handful of key decisions that did not go in your favour. I think some of you need to take a long, hard look in the mirror, and decide to man-up and err on the side of what is right, rather than slavishly and sheep-like tow the mad Russian's party-line. Clattenberg is innocent.
Don't agree with any of your reasoning in this. There are many fans who believe any Ref, just not this one, is more than capable of using inappropriate language to players. In fact most of us can't believe they don't do so more often. I certainly wouldn't shut up while Rooney gave me a gob full. Also do not believe for one minute that Abramovich is behind this. I am more than prepared to take it at face value, that several Chelsea players heard what they believe to be a racist remark and another dodgy remark from the Ref. It may well turn out that the players misheard or their English is not good enough, that's for others to decide. But no way CFC or any Club would go down this path out of bad sportsmanship or spite. That is unbelievable.
If that's true the only evidence Chelsea have is the word of someone who barely understands English and who had to have it translated by a team mate. You think its acceptable to accuse someone, in such harsh terms as well, on such flimsy evidence?
You didn't win yesterday. What accusations or death threats will be hurled at Kevin Friend to end his career?
This is yet another stain on our club. Badly thought out, badly executed and barely plausible. Apparently RA has got involved to see how it got this far, and also to see how re **** Mikel even got to the ref, as there's security around to prevent that sort if thing happening.
Considering you have racist fans and a racist captain nobody connected with chelsea really has the right to accuse anyone of anything, sort out your own players first, and it's funny how you dropped the charges for mata isn't it and di matteo looked very uncomfortable when asked why this was the case, maybe because your club feels that accusing a white referee of racially abusing a black player will have more legs in court. But something stinks and i think your club should really try and keep out of the front pages because this will come back and bite you.
This I still cannot believe that the Chavs want to punish Clattenburg in such a way for his mistakes. He made a mistake with Torres sending off. Fair enough. But the offside was the linesman not his. To get their own back, the Chavs made that complaint I think. I doubt clattenburg used racially abusive language. if true he should be severely punished and kicked out. If not and it is just a malicious accusation, then Chelsea should be severely punished. You cannot destroy someone's career AND reputation like that.
