I hope this is all just a horrible misunderstanding and Howard C and Obi make up.

The club and players do not need to go through this again.

PS Corr: JOM

I have had quite a few dealings with the FA and at county level too and one thing I could put money on is they are all complicit in covering up anything that is liable to cause them embarrassment or collateral damage. The muppets who ran the line and the 4th official have predictably sided with the referee as dictated by the FA. This will be a long drawn out affair that none of us want and that one that will not come to fruition because the FA are bent.

Especially with David Gill involved.

Now the Police are involved--there's not a lot the FA can do! Mikel has made his allegation, and now Clattenberk will either be nicked or the case dropped through lack of evidence!

Its noticeable that Roman has ordered an independent investigation - me thinks this should've happened before we started shouting the odds. I wouldn't be surprised if he decides to call a retreat before we dig ourselves a deeper hole by making the complaint formal esp as the accusations are based on third party hearsay. It will not look for Gourlay if we're put on the back foot as it must've been his call and will inevitably lead to the FA dipping into their favourite cashcow once again.

and yet they found the England captain guilty of racist abuse? Just anti-Chelsea bias?

That wouldbe sensible of Roman. He wouldn't want to drag the club into the sh1t like Dalglish did by supporting Suarez against all the evidence and turning the scousers into the most despised club in the world <ok>

That's providing Clattenberg is innocent of course. We'll never be that despised. <ok>

Its not what people heard its what you can prove that matters and what the legal experts will tell the Board is that without hard evidence our case will be easily dismissed. What does disturb me (if its true of course) the alleged interview given by Romeu to Spanish Media - there should've been a gagging order until we had properly established the facts.

Hm.

I suspect that there's about as much truth in this story as there is in half the Jimmy Saville allegations.

True

The scousers have sunk to a new low. Their desperation to latch on to an incident which had nothing to do with them was embarrassing. The reaction of the blues fans was measured in comparison to theirs...This was a chance for the despicable scousers on these boards to get some attention. <ok>

I think you'll find all we did was alert the Premier League official who is there to represent the Premier Leagues members ie US that we thought the ref used inappropriate language. I really don't think that is 'shouting the odds'.
I am sure that Chelsea FC could easily have said come on lads we don't need this or they could back their employees. I for one would much prefer they back their employees.
It was not Chelsea that involved the police it was The Society of Black Lawyers. Their right to do so.
I am somewhat disturbed that the PFA isn't being more vocal though after all they are meant to represent ALL players.

Just think about it, "Mikel" - "Monkey" spoken in a newcastle accent the foreign players arent familiar with. Thats more than enough doubt to get him off as they sound so similar.

Please tell me you're ****ing joking <laugh>

It doesn't even rhyme, only similarity is they both start with M. Load of bollocks.

Try it, its not that far way, but remember its 2 johnny foreigners who said they heard it, whos English is not that good at best.
This will blow up in Chelsea's face if not careful.

Yeah, of course it is.

He should say

" I didn't call you Monkey", that's the accepted excuse , ain't it ? Between two Londoners, with no issues of accent.

Now, if he was from Hartlepool, not County Durham, there'd be some anticedence
