aside from the match prices, will anyone be dissapointed if we make 7/8/9 changes from saturdays team and then put in a mediocre performance? i think i will be. the League is priority. The league is readings priority too, but they put out a strong team last night. as supers points out, it's about engaging the next generation. Maybe i am wrong, squad players get picked and will put in a good performance. I'd love to see us go on an extended cup run.

Sorry Supers but even if I accept all that surely the main aim of the Club is to make money and the only source of extra revenue through the turnstile is Cup games. Whether they are right or wrong on that will depend upon the eventual gate but I also have to assume that Spurs had a say on the pricing policy as after all they are not interested in the advantages you mention but are only interested in how much they take back to White Hart Lane. If their ' cut ' was drastically reduced by undercharging due to the factors you raise they could end up out of pocket on the night which is hardly fair. I also thought that we had established on another thread that Reading charged £20 and, of course, Wigan were playing Div 2 Bradford. £10 to see a Div 2 side and the same price to watch Spurs? Doesn't seem right to me.

I think that the point is, we played Scunthorpe in the first game £15, Doncaster in the second £20, both these prices were higher than Reading/Arsenal & Wigan/Bradford.

both previous cup games, despite the calibre of opposition, could have seen far bigger gates than they did, as will this game.

    why is that?

it's not because the fan base isn't there! its cos of over pricing - exactly as ILD says above <ok>

its a slippery slope when you start to alienate the fans who want to go to games but can't afford to. these cup games are a great chance to bring in extra revenue but by being greedy they will probably have done more harm than good.

Just been on the web site and looked at the ticket availability, the Jarrold is sold out, but, both the N & P, & Barclay upper and lower have hundreds of seats left, unless people are going to buy on the night it looks very light!

This is all just an extension of the age old business arguement. Do you get more customers by charging less or make more by charging fewer customers higher prices? Nobody knows until after the event. Look at Wigan. Hardcore support of about 15k but last night charged £10 and got, removing away support, 11k. Would they have got 22K if they had charged £5 or only 5k if they had charged £20? I suspect that they would have got roughly the same if they had charged £5, £10 or £20. Anyway I am now off to the game via the pub so I know that at least 2 people will turn up.

From what ILD says, I don't think there will be a very big crowd tonight. I would rather the price had been lower to get more fans in (especially children with it being half term) and they could then have made more money by fans buying pies etc!!!
