I'd give up TMT, he can't even read. Your post makes sense to me, but his reply means its gone straight over his head...not for the first time! <doh> Its a kind of wummery.

And no, SC isn't pulling yer plonker. The goalkeeping position is a specialist area, to have a specialist here is a bit of a bonus imo, thats not to mean we have to kiss his arse every time he turns up, no, a needs a good kick up it from time to time!! :D <ok>

I can't put it any other way PNP. If a team is 4 goals to the good then they should score more in the second half to totally bury the opposition. The supporters want goals and to go a complete second half without scoring says that the team isn't firing on all cylinders. Reading had a purple patch and couldn't maintain the rate. Even if they win this match they won't win the cup.

Thanks notso,at least I'm making myself clear to some.

Reading aren't very good and they're lacking confidence though TMT, especially at the back.
They just desperately needed a win and one against a team like Arsenal would've been a massive boost. A few goals to the good would've been a big bonus, too.

I don't understand your question mark to my post though. Yes I know a win would have been a confidence boost but I feel for any team to be 4-1 up at half time and then not score anymore goals in the second half then something is fundamentally wrong. This is what I meant when I said that we only scored one in the second half against Newcastle that something was wrong with us and look what happened. Anyway I can't say anymore on the subject and it's and it's history now. But I felt we should have scored more last Sunday and that our play needs to be more convincing and stop these two half tales.

This idea we have to dominate every game for 90 minutes is quite absurd, unrealistic, and showing complete disregard for opposition. Of course you're only going to get periods in the game when you're in the ascendancy, its about converting your chances during these periods. All too often we don't and pick up our goals in the broken play inbetween. That said, we have done better this season.

I'm not perfect by any means, but of all the games to get worried about, us beating Toon is completely and utterly bizzare IMO.

Beating Toon 5-0 was not any indicator at all we'd lose out to Arsenal, it's no wonder you're so wrong with your analyses of Chelsea and City, when you come to that sort of conclusion.

I can think of so many games last season to have worried over rather than that one.

I was at the Wolves game, where we managed to draw at home to a team who got relegated, now that was something to get concerned about.

Re tonight - Reading are losing 4-5, we beat Toon 5-0 - do you see the difference?
I don't think you've really got the hang of this football lark sometimes, TMT.

I've admitted a few times on here that you lads know a lot more about football than I do Ghoddle but the two scores are not connected are they? I thought our failure to only score one more goal was an indicator that we might not make the CL. That you don't see that well ok.

This question is just for idle curiosity and it's to other supporters too and not just Spurs.

If your team is 4-0 up at half time what would you want, expect and hope that the second half would bring for your team?

Depends on a lot of factors, against the Saint's we tired a lot in the second half after the midweek game,as it was almost the same team in both games. Then alot of Managers would shut up shop at 4-0 up,and sit on it.then again if the opponent's were a bad side that found scoring difficult,i would like my team to try for a few more.

Exactly tots, that's what I've been trying to say,try for a few more and the supporters would expect a few more and the team SHOULD get a few more, not just one or in Reading's case last night none.

Adkins "I can turn Saints around," and they lose 3-0. I don't think that he can.

I think it was down to AVB against Saints, instead of going for a third he decided to try to keep what we had,by bringing a midfielder on.i can understand that as the team was tired, but if we had gone for a third i think we would have got it ,and killed the game

Could be but at 2-0 up trying to keep what a team has is dangerous as Villa found out last night. Let's see what we do tonight against a struggling team.
