“The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.” - Winston Churchill
I'm actually in your camp (not that bothered) - though would have been nice to not get thumped, and keep it to 1-0 or similar. However, the issue about preparation time is we've had bloody weeks of it this season, with the international breaks etc., and it's got us nowhere, so not sure what difference it would make in this instance. Particularly in that Tuesday-Monday is pretty much like a regular Saturday-Saturday/Sunday Premiership game turnover time. If we need more time than that to prepare for an important game, I don't hold out much hope for us.
”I am an optimist. It does not seem too much use being anything else.” - Winston Churchill
I feel sorry for Mayuka. He was the best player of the second half vs Spurs but having started today he looked lost up front alone. No other player supported him. I can see him being an important player for us if he gets a run of games but last night didn't help his cause.
Whilst we weren't likely to win the match and NA did the rigth thing in sending out the kids and the periforal players, I'm very concerned about our lack of passion. No shots on target = no goals, regardless of the opposition.
Last night didn't help anyone's cause! Think a few senior players burnt their bridges with Nigel last night!
Why does everyone keep saying we did the right thing in picking a **** team. for the last 4 season these players have been used to sat tues/weds sat games and all of a sudden they cant do it. How was last night going to benefit us survivng in the premier league. Ok one less game to worry about injuries yet we manage to injure our best most expensive player ever in training. so do we stop training now just in case.
Only reason i'm moaning is I actually went paid good money and travelled to the game. It's easier saying don't moan etc when you didn't go and watch the pile of **** isn't it?.
I think all the senior players who played last night should cough up and compensate the fans who took the time and money to attend.
I went and I don't want that. I just want them to pull their finger out next time they where the shirt. As a fan you follow no matter what, so for my suggesting a refund is wrong. I have bad days at work but don't expect to cough up to those it effects.
For me getting rid of the a lot of the players that were on the pitch(can't really say they played) last night would be better then a refund.
I know hopefully the first team will use the performance they watched last nights as a catalyst for a much greater performance against West Brom.
Some of our team last night were last seasons first choice players, plus some new signings. I didn't go to the game, but the scoreline suggests it was a pathetic display.
You do know Churchill suffered huge bouts of insecurity from the Gallipoli debacle ? He family had a history of mental illness and he also suffered , great man but a poor example , try Mandela , Gandhi or some other .
