The way I see Holt will battle it out with the likes of Shawcross and Huth, I'm not sure who Pulis will put on Hoolahan but either way that player would have to commit to marking a free roaming player which could leave some gaps, I have faith in Wes his crafty player not the quickest but he out skills outwits and outmanoeuvres most players. The wide players need to be the ones who perform in this game for me, hopefully drawing the centre's backs outwards giving Holt some space to breath.
the key to beating teams like stoke is to NOT match up against them. they are very organised, so we'll need players to try and drag them out of position and stretch them. to be honest, this game has got 0-0 written all over it. we don't struggle to create chances but we do struggle to stick them away at the moment. stoke will limit our chances so the odds aren't great!
I'm a bit more positive about the game than you. This was a planned miss game for me based on last seasons game, plus I had other commitments, but I'm going now and have a good feeling about it. Lets hope the Stewie Griffin socks work their magic again????????
you know me ILD, always positive, but being realistic and putting my betting hat on for a moment, 0-0 is the logical outcome. its very winnable - much may depend on tonights result and if it goes to extra time, although i'm sure it'll be the reserves in general. ps. stewie is my hero
Had a choice between Stewie or Peter Griffin socks for the Arsenal game, picked Stewie, and we won, so their already washed and ready for the Stoke game. I'm going for 2-0. Tetty & Pilks.
one things for sure, i'm far more confident that we can keep clean sheets now, so at least we don't necessarily have to score to pick up points
Its because they have bought big and not sold on for any real value 76 million I think the figure was, Arsenal were the lowest of all Premiership teams with about 19 million in profit, we were 10th spending 16 million if memory serves correct. I don't think the figures included wages, just transfers ins and outs.
yes, that makes sense. was surprised to read it though! about time stoke pushed on under those circumstances
