Chapper decided not to pay taxes and was eventually liquidated, his assets were bought for £5.50 and a newco was formed under the name of "Chapmeister..." In future please address him by that name or if you prefer The Chapper.
As you please, Chapsteroonie. You wouldn't read AP's post cos it was too long yet read the spastic's mammoth multi-post on exactly the same subject from the opposite angle. What was it you said about arguing black and white again?
Yes but the reason I stopped is I realized he was still flogging the same ****e point. Why can't you just admit there has been a drop in interest because of the lack of competition in the league? Plus two old firm games in the book have been replaced by two games against Dundee? Also, if this attendance situation wasn't "a great concern" etc then why the letter preseason encouraging season ticket sales along with some typical digs towards rangers?
There's 2 points between 1st and 4th - compare that with the years when Celtic and Rangers were ten clear of everyone by this stage. I've had a letter asking me to renew at some point during the summer for at least the past three years - funny how this year's one is suddenly some sort of begging letter. I'm not going to even ask what "sly digs at Rangers" there were in any letter/encouragement to renew - Lawwell wasn't outside the main stand shouting "Tiocfaidh Ar La" or referring to Rangers as "that mob up the road". If it's the "unbroken history" stuff then, yes, it's using the current situation to sell Celtic to the supporters in light of what's happened to Rangers. To compare, a certain CEO responded to a Celtic fan on a radio phone in and only this week responded to a CQN blog. Graham/Poole/McMurdo/Leggat have blogged incessantly this year about Lawwell - all sorts of bizarre conspiracy crap when they all ignored things staring them in the face. Lawwell's response can best be described thusfar as "dignified silence" to borrow a phrase from somewhere.
Yes but Celtic will no doubt have a game(s) in hand due to euro quali fixtures etc and have slipped up sereval times this year. Similar to last year, then there is the typical attitude of "that's the league won now" when you finally made it to 1st spot. I saw this myself. Also, Wee Pete didn't send out crystal balls with the begging letter, most people would have expected a decent lead by now. The fact there isn't is down to your team.
No. Incorrect. Those were attendances at SPL games against St Johnstone, Motherwell, Hibs and Motherwell again. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/scot_prem/8575707.stm http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/scot_prem/8616829.stm http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/scot_prem/8623166.stm http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/scot_prem/8653021.stm And you've inadvertently pointed out another flaw in your theory. The numbers you give are for attendances not ticket sales. We had 48,000 season ticket holders in 2009/10 (you can check this in the official accounts if you want). Yet for those 4 games the attendances were between 24,000 and 18,000 fewer than (the minimum) number of tickets paid for (a total discrepancy of 80750). So attendances in 2009/10 were lower than 2010-11 - due to the apathy created by Mowbray and the result of season book holders not turning up - but not ticket sales. In fact **** it - the official accounts state that in 2009-10 we sold 48,000 season tickets and 240,000 match day tickets (not including european games). In 2010-11 the official account state we 42,500 season tickets and 166,000 match day tickets (not including european games). So your figures are pish and I'm right - tickets sales decreased. http://www.thecelticwiki.com/page/Celtic Financial - Annual Report 2010 http://www.scotzine.com/2011/08/celtic-release-their-end-of-year-preliminary-financial-results/ See above for answer to your FAIL. See above for answer to your FAIL. What?! I'm saying if more non-season book holders, like myself, chose to go to CL games than went to Europa league games last season (which is evidently true) then they're less likely to also go to league games. I spent £110 including booking fees for my CL games - that's (almost) the price of 4 league games which I subsequently won't go to. Multiply that by the roughly 20,000 non-season ticket holders that have bought CL tickets ... Incidentally I've never said having no old firm games won't make a difference. Of course it will - it's the only 2 guaranteed sell-outs in the league which obviously boosts total and average attendances for the season. But if less people are going to see Celtic v St Johnstone than in previous seasons, I'd say that the economic conditions are THE major factor. As they have been for the past 4 years and why we've seen a large decrease in total and average attendances since the pre-recession. See above answer to your FAIL. Now, please God, let me have killed this thread
What do you think Einstein? In this case the term post/thread are interchangable but i know you are a stickler so I will further rephrase. I don't start threads about other posters. There you go.
Just noticed there's a pretty spartan crowd at Celtic Park, that must be because Rangers are not in this competition... Oh wait a minute.
Talking of low attendances - judging by the telly there's about 2 people at CP tonight for the league cup game Is THAT because of Rangers too?
It was'nt a backtrack at all, you are patently ignorant and need things spelled out, everyone else knew what I meant.
