- Who said it was? I am making a point that unemployment rates were higher in Scotland quite a few times in the past few years yet tickets were still snapped up by Celtic fans. You claim the recession is the main reason for the drop in attendances yet at the height of the recession when there were more people unemployed and Rangers were still in the SPL you were selling tickets no problem.

Again, who said recessions were decided on unemployment figures? Wages have been frozen? I'm guessing that ticket prices for Savco matches have risen dramatically? Who am I kidding asking you that, I've tried to get an answer out of you half a dozen times about ticket prices and you still can't come up with one.

Living in a bubble. <laugh>

Listen to yourself. Savco's main rivals booted out of the SPL and there's a drop in ticket sales. That's understandable.

But save yourself the embarrasment of rolling out the excuses like the recession is finally starting to kick in, champions league football etc etc etc.

They've all been quashed.

You're silly. As I said, season ticket sales have fallen every year since the start of the recession. From 53,000 in 2008, to 42,500 last year - all of which seasons included Ra Gerz in the SPL. This year's drop is comparable to previous seasons.

And the price of a single match seat has gone up (for non-restricted view at a league game) from £25 to £28. An increase of >10% at a time when disposable income is actually going down.

You're welcome. <ok>

Celtic Attendances

2007/08 1,067,449
2008/09 1,095,740
2009/10 866,061
2010/11 930,395
2011/12 967,182

So ticket sales have actually been on the rise since 2009 (during the recession) yet have plummeted this season.

You're welcome. <ok>

So are we now to believe that the drop in attendances this season is now down to the £3 increase?

and extra champs league games though medders

in fact, given that celtic have had an average of 5000 fewer fans for home games, wouldnt a mere 2 champs league home games cover this.

is it, in fact, the case, mlaud medro, that in real terms celtic are likely to have more punters through their gates this year if they only finish 3rd in their champs league game - never mind a sell out last 16?

The 2009/10 blip is due to 4 or 5 games where we had uber-****e attendances of about 24,000 (the end of Mowbray days).

Otherwise - thanks for proving my point. You've shown very clearly that there was a decrease of ~128,000 paying customers per season (~7,000 per game) when comparing 2008 to 2012 ie the recession- WHEN RANGERS WERE IN THE LEAGUE.

Ehh.

That clearly shows an increase in tickets during the recession.

When do you think the recession started? When Tony Mowbray took over at Celtic? You're getting "depression" mixed up with "recession" <laugh>

Anyway - as I've said you've shown quite beautifully that total ticket sales have decreased by >10% over a period in which Rangers were in the league. And as I've said season ticket sales have dropped season by season by a toal of >10,000 over the same period. That they've gone down further is completely in keeping with that trend.

On the other hand, attendances at european games has risen. We've had 54,000, 51,000 and 58,000 at our three european games compared to an average of ~37,000 last year. Proving Mr Lawell's assertion that people are picking and chosing which games they attend. <ok>

Again, why are you bringing up unemployment ? Lawell never mentioned it and neither did I so no one has used it as an excuse that I have read so please don’t be a tit as usual and attempt to sidetrack the issue which was “The recession”. You said it had little or no affect on attendences, so please continue to stick by that frankly ridiculous assertion.

Well why ask about unemployment and season book prices? Oh I forgot, you are trying to change the subject again. You fail.

Listen to yourself. Savco's main rivals booted out of the SPL and there's a drop in ticket sales. That's understandable.

You do realise you cannot kick out a club who don't have membership of the SPL in the 1st place?

But save yourself the embarrasment of rolling out the excuses like the recession is finally starting to kick in, champions league football etc etc etc.

They've all been quashed.

The only people embarrassing themselves are you and nev and chapper who think the recession never happened (or is over) and it had no real effect on attendances anyway. It really does sum you up better than I ever could.

If you believe it then you are a fool, pure and simple, literally.

As my signature says, you cannot reason a man out of something he was not reasoned into, you have shown neither reasoning nor logic and I won't waste any more time explaining simple ****ing concepts to morons.

I'm not sure if you are reading this properly. 866,061 - 930,395 - 967,182 is NOT a decrease.

How much are this seasons CL ticket prices compared to last seasons Europa ticket prices?

Recession & unemployment – 2 subjects that are in no way linked to each other, gotcha. <doh>
Where and when did I say it had little or no affect on attendances? Sticking by a frankly ridiculous assertion that you made up.

Well why ask about unemployment and season book prices? Oh I forgot, you are trying to change the subject again. You fail.

You said peoples wages have frozen. Have Savco tickets risen dramatically?

How come the attendances rose between 2010/2011 and 2011/2012? I thought they have been steadily declining? Some would say it would suggest that recession was hitting people less hard!

Are you really this ****ing stupid son? No one used unemployment as an excuse, that is one of the factors that is used when deciding whether we are in recession but it is not the only or main factor. Do you not see that?

This is what you said:
Simply put attendances are down because Rangers are not in the SPL.

That's the gods honest truth if any Savco fan would have the balls to admit it.

So to save us all a lot of trouble why don't you explain EXACTLY what you meant when you typed it?

ps You keep saying "Savco", am I supposed to respond when I don't have a clue what you are talking about?

ps You keep saying "Savco", am I supposed to respond when I don't have a clue what you are talking about?

Using the Golden Rule Theory, it would suggest that the word Sevco grinds his gears.

Quite what the Golden Rule says about having someone as your avatar rather than starting a thread about them is uncertain.

By my interpretation, I think it means he cuffs off thinking of you.

So Medro's argument is that attendances are down because Rangers are dead but attendances are up despite the recession?

Please tell me I've got the wrong end of the stick here <laugh>
