Dai think you make the point there, the game is much much faster these days and some of the footballers are running 100m in 11-12 secs ,how the hell is a 50yr old referee or even a 40yr old ref going to keep up with players??

Everything is much faster with much more pressure involved in every decision due to massive amounts of money involved, i really feel for the refs, they should be getting help to cope with it, but whats happening is that the technology is being used to highlight everything thats wrong, we never here about the amount of times they get it right,and as much as it pains me to say it,they actually get more right than they do wrong.
 
refs will always get things right more than wrong but a wrong decision today can cost the clubs millions of pounds and that's why you see managers complaining. the are right to complain in a lot of cases in today's game. technology has to come into the game now and it will stop or cut down bad mistakes and put an end to blatant diving...
 
I think we'll batter you, but tbh I couldn't give a **** as its a pointless game which is an inconvenience to both teams that they could both do without with much more important games coming up. I won't be arsed in the slightest if we go out as we have enough on our plate trying to get through the league and UEFA Cup with our small squad.

I wouldn't say pointless, I always want to win any cup that we are in. If we go out then I won't be devastated but while we are in it I want us to win it, we have a big history in this cup.

We also need to take Swansea seriously or we will get turned over.
 
If I had to choose, I would take the win in the league match rather than this one. Whatever the result the `Pool players will have been fantastic, a superb performance that was overwhelming in it`s brilliance. Fact.

Wales and Liverpool legend Ian Rush is certain former Juventus team-mate Michael Laudrup will keep Swansea City in the Premier League.

Rush hopes to renew acquaintance with Laudrup on Wednesday after Swansea's Capital One Cup visit to Anfield.

"He'll keep them up without doubt," said Rush. "Swansea did really well last season and they'll stay up because of the football they play.

"I'm looking forward to seeing him. He's a lovely man and a great manager."

I still find it hard to accept anything from anyone who considers a moustache to be acceptable though.

I had to telephone my bank Santander, regarding an error on my account, when I finally got through, and had sorted things out, (had Difficulty with the Accent) I said to the lad the other end, are you in Liverpool? "yes, why" he replied, Well I'm glad, and I hope we stuff you tomorrow night! He laughed and replied, you wont be stuffing me, I'm an Evertonian, but by all means put a shed load past them! Well we both laughed our socks off.............<laugh>
