I am sick to death of the constant "controversy" that seems to come up after every premier league weekend. It always seems to be the bloody premier league. Do these wrong decisions not happen in the lower leagues? Here we are yet again with a complete mess and "fans jumping in with their self righteous views. I'm a Chelsea fan and was as disappointed as the next man but let's have some perspective here. IT'S A BLOODY GAME!
We lost but hey, nobody died.
On the other hand I hear United fans saying "We owed them that". Owed them what exactly?
Personally, I would like to see TV replays banned. You don't get them at the match so why give fuel to the armchair officials who never actually attend games but can give an informed decision after watching the incident 8 times.

Thoughts.
 
The "We owed them that" is down to all the bad reffing of the last x amount of years that cost UTD points at the bridge.
but like all things is only a game.

Exactly my point. In which case every team in the league owe you one. That's what I'm saying, the mentality is really sad.
 
It started as a game Blueman, but today it's a business and a religion! FFP, star salaries, mega fines for swearing etc! If you want to see the game as sport go to the park on a Sunday morning!

Fair point. Just a shame that the "game" has come to this.
 
To the Romans, throwing Christians to the lions was just a game, and the more the victims screamed in terror and pain, the more the crowds bayed for blood and guts.

Just because its a game, doesn't mean that it isn't life and death to some people.

Refs Probaly had a better reputation for one.

Violent as ****, full of pissheads and fat bastards in gay shorts. Oh and fans battered each other rather than watch the game depending on their moods.

Oh and Liverpool werent a laughing stock <ok>

Yes Style definitely. Things were more honest. Don't get me wrong, some of the players were no angels, but there was a hell of a lot more respect for the officials. The players were men. Not the sad whimps of today.

Honest? Cant really say that. I remember watching a program about back in't day and several players spoke of how the constantly cheated to gain an advantage.

You think it was honest as you didnt see it as there were few if any cameras.

Digs to the ribs, grabbing balls, knees into legs, hair pulling, stamps etc etc. Always happened.

Respect for the refs? Maybe. Could of been because players got away with murder most of the time where as now the rules are stricter so the ref makes more decisions and the players get pissed off over it.

No mate. There was more respect generally. Players were allowed to tackle for a start. Can't even slide tackle now. Players go down under the slightest touch and the papers are full of garbage about some "controversy" every Monday morning. And worst of all, the gullible millions fall for it.

True to a point but as I said when there wasnt someone watching everything players got away with a lot more.

Players would be taken out for example.
 
I think cameras have brought some good and some bad to the game. Without them obviously less people got to watch their team. Stadiums only hold so many and MOTD is rubbish to be fair. Of course it makes everyone a referee/pundit/manager but it sort of adds to the fun at times.

The past week hasnt been fun but for every replay of some stupid incident theres one of a great goal, tackle, pass or save.

Maybe have 2 sets of cameras at games. One for the fans to watch and one that the FA/PL can use to review games should the need arise? Dont know if it would work but cant be that hard. Just get sky to agree to not milking every negative thing about the game.
 
Today everyone with eyes knows what is right and wrong because of replays.
As long as the officials don't see replays, the refs can never be sure.
Why are FIFA against technology ?? Simple. It will stop anyone making millions from bent officials.
