United did play their part and though I'm annoyed at some of their fans for just coming here and saying 'fair game' or 'good result' which we all know is a load of rollocks, it is Clattenburg who farked it up so badly. What did he miss? (from both sides of the argument)

1. Torres could have been sent off for his foul on Clerverley
2. Torres didn't dive. Evans and Fergie said there was contact. There was the same amount of contact as there was between Young and Ivanovic. Evans was even pleading to Clattenburg not to book him...
3. The offside goal. We all saw it was offside and the less said about it now the better.
4. Rooney, on a yellow card, makes an obvious foul which is worthy of another yellow for sure! Fergie knew that and took him off straight after!
5. The ref was bottling it with the cards at the end. Giving Mikel, Cole and Valencia cards for the wrong reasons. Clattenburg lost it.
6. He appears to have said something to Mikel and our Spanish players. Why would Chelsea issue a complaint if we didn't have a leg to stand on!?

Overall it is clear to see that he had a shocker. United fans may say that it's payback for the Drogba goal at Old Trafford 2 years ago but are they forgetting the fact that Macheda practically threw the ball in the net with both hands!
It is disappointing and I'm still very upset with the result as I think a draw would be a fair result. We are still top of the league and will take some stopping.
 
This used to be a decent ref a few years ago, till he had his barnet done. A hair transplant will always turn a man into a bit of a prat. Have you had it done BlueZzzz? <laugh>
 
im still furious, think i need to stay away from football a while, the more i think about it the worse it gets, can you imagine 2 united players getting sent off in the space of 6 minutes at old trafford? just as they pull back a two goal deficit and are starting to press? shocking.

I think you were lucky over the sendings off actually, Ivanovic was a definite red and Torres should've been sent off in the first half so only thing you can get really angry about is the offside goal

But Torres stayed on the ptich... it was a similar challenge to that of Evans on Drogba and Evans didn't go. Torres was still on the pitch and the ref made a huge error!
 
You should take number 3 of your list, how exactly was that the refs fault, surely that was the linesman.

Jesus, I've heard of late tackles, but not one that takes months to arrive!
 
If Torres didn't go down, clutching his knee like it was broken, then the ref might not have got it wrong. Torres was play acting by exaggerating the contact and so the ref obviously thought there was no contact at all. He was wrong, but I understand why he got it wrong, and Torres only has himself to blame.
 
As an outsider, I must admit to being a little sceptical because it's Chelsea making the complaint after an unfair defeat. I seem to remember your club doing this before, after an unlucky result against Barcelona, a few years ago. Although Mourinho's complaint was subesquently dismissed, the damage had been done, and a fine referee, Anders Frisk, had to retire after receiving death threats from a couple of dozen of the more mindless Chelsea fans.

I watched the Merseyside derby in Shearers Bar, at SJP, with some West Brom fans yesterday, before taking my seat to watch the match. It wasn't a great game tbh but what struck me was what an easy match it was for the referee Chris Foy. Why? Because both teams played fair, with no diving or surrounding the referee damanding he hand out cards to the opposition. Even though there were over 49,000 there, he wasn't put under such pressure that can cause mistakes to happen.

Anyway, I suppose the truth of what happened yesterday will all come out in the wash eventually. Why not everyone wait till the investigation is complete before commenting further.
 
I think Clattenberg got the Torres decision right. Minimal contact, and maximum simulation. Sorry, but Torres has only himself to blame. When are these players going to learn their lesson? Football is growing tired of cheats.

However, I do admit that, overall, Clattenberg had a dreadful game. Perhaps, if the game had been played at OT, he might have got away with most of his duff decisions, but since most of them went in favour of United (as they always tend to do), the home crowd was constantly on his back. The pressure seemed to get to him and make him crack. I'll be surprised and disappointed if he referees another high-profile match.
 
The officials get so many decisions wrong the players are fools to dive they just invite the card and can't complain when they get it, even if Torres did get caught he could have at least have tried to stay on his feet

Funny, when Modric did the same last season to win a pen you all said it was a foul <doh>
 
Ivanovic's red card was Luiz's fault for pushing up and leaving Ivan as last man, and Cahill's fault for being a mug and charging at RVP. It was always coming. Our best defender got caught out by the incompetence of the others. Ivanovic was very unlucky imo but it was red no doubt.

Also, I think you will find that there are not many Spurs fans who will now try to defend Modric, mainly on account of the fact that he is a rat-faced turn-coat.

In other words you were biased.

Torres went down easily, but you can't book him if there's contact.

Yes true, I know its letter of the law and everything but I can't help but think: what is Ivanovic supposed to do?
Young has ran across him and he has made every effort to avoid contact (whilst Young has done the opposite btw). Is it fair he should get a straight red card for what was an accident?

What - are the Chelsea fans not upset enough for you, you have to open another wound for them <laugh>
