So do you agree with Dev that the recession is the reason CP is half empty for all your SPL games?
partly.
i gave up my sb to spend my money on my son, there will be others like me.
now stop being a dick

Still a lot of cash to watch 4 division football, so well done on those who go.
That means you're first division champions then. Apart from my pedantry I would agree with you about the champions league tickets all the same. Barcelona or Ross County? Not much contest there I'm afraid.Moses McNeil:3680173 said:There's also the cuts to benefits by the Tory scum. That would bite hard in the East End![]()

You would think after reading this and then Trevor agreeing that you'd at least try not to do it again for maybe half an hour or so?
Ok, you're try to be a smart arse but I'll play along as I'm not up to much just now. I'll make this super simple for you.
1, this country has been in financial trouble for 5 years. (that means credit crunch followed by negative growth in 2008 resulting in what is widely recognized as a recession)
2, Celtic have played around 50 European games in this period (that mean Celtic have played around 50 European games in this period)
3, This is the bit where normal people would think "how come it was taken 50 games and 5 years to see a drop in domestic attendances?
As for the mistruth bits, well I'm surprised you're coming down on me so hard. Forgive me for not being exact on my Celtic knowledge, we all know the obsessives like yourself wouldn't do such a thing had it been about rangers but Celtic were in the champions league "proper" in 06-07, 07-08 & 08-09.
Now please forgive me for being ever so slightly out but it was still in the credit crunch and whilst we were living what is was the criteria of a "recession" and as I said earlier, you had dozens of European games whilst the public was under financial restraint and yet it's only now that the domestic attendances have dropped?
As for digging up that thread of mine, hook line and sinker!....
Also, note the remarks by your boys, different when the shoe is on the other foot eh?...
Imagine my surprise...
Maybe you could enlighten me as to why CP is full for a £40 Champions League tie but not for a £25 (?) SPL game? I thought the recession was restricting people from attending the football?
no answer![]()
So are you going to follow Nev's logic and state that the Recession has had no effect on attendence figures in Scotland and at Celtic Park in particular?
No other factors came into play, the only reason that our attendences are down is solely down to the absence from the SPL of Rangers?
My position is that there are many factors, the recession, apathy, and Rangers included, but the downturn in numbers cannot be placed squarely at any one door. All clubs are feeling the pinch, as a Rangers fan you should know that better than most.
Maybe because people prefer to save their cash for the big games? Given a choice I suspect most would prefer seeing Barcelona to Kilmarnock et al. It's not rocket surgery.
Ah so you're back to being an adult now?
Lack of old firm/competition is the final (very big) nail in the coffin, definitely not an even mix of your reasons otherwise there would have been a gradual drop over the years or possibly a more sudden initial decline followed by levelling out and possibly even a rise now the we apparently are out of the recession.
Why would I as a rangers fan know better than most about the pinch? I thought our plight was all the fault of big bad David Murray and his ego rather than a recession?...
Is it a simple as that? "given the choice" so they can't go to both games?

Simply put attendances are down because Rangers are not in the SPL.
That's the gods honest truth if any Savco fan would have the balls to admit it.
I may aswell put my oar in too. Lawwell said or implied(can't be ****ed reading the article) that the reason for falling attendances was the economy, not the lack of Rangers. What BH and Trev are saying, why is it only now that attendances are falling, why not when the recession was at its height? The answer being Rangers were there. Are things not better on the job front in Scotland and people spending more than they were say 2 years ago? That is a genuine question as I don't keep up to date with Scotland's economy.
