Aye the police got it wrong, Charlie isn't massaging them to impress possible investors.

The police got it wrong. It clearly angers you that we pull bigger crowds than you on a regular basis

Was that you who asked for the official attendance from the Police?

It clearly angers me? How do you figure that exactly? I never started this article and I only entered the debate when certain innacuracies were opined.

I have now provided a couple of people with FACTS and they don't seem to care to much and are intent on battering on anyway, despite the FACTS.

The only people who have any cause for anger are people who are:

A: Wrong
B: Easily angered when "A" applies.

I'm not wrong. <ok>

However, following a Freedom of Information request, it can now be confirmed that the actual attendance was Infact 42,174 according to Strathclyde Police. Similarly, when Elgin City visited Ibrox, the attendance given on the official club website was 46,015 when in actual fact, the correct attendance was 36,944.

What the ****?! <yikes>

Now this is taking obsession to a whole new level. I cannot believe that these sad ****s actually goto the trouble of requesting Rangers' official attendance figures from the Police!

<laugh>

There really is no hope for them, absolutely none at all. If only they put as much effort into getting a job, a life and if they tidy themselves up a bit - maybe even a burd...maybe! <rofl>

It is, it's a bargain but it still has to be paid for on top of season books or "on the day" match tickets. The attendances are falling and I doubt it has anything to do with Rangers (as is being slyly inferred here unless i'm mistaken).

Rangers have been massaging their official attendance figures, so less people are going to Ibrox now despite the season books being much cheaper than last season. Either they are feeling the pinch too (and who is'nt?), or the fans are doing the same as Celtic fans, and not attending matches because Celtic are not in the same division.

Money's too tight too mention and fans are voting with their feet and being selective in which games they pay for, it's as simple as that I suspect.

Neither side are playing well in their respective divisions despite both being top of their leagues. That coupled with money is why attendances are falling. There is the novelty factor with us playing teams we would normally only meet via cup competitions. The fact that we have to get up there again and our abysmal away form at least makes it at least seem unique.

I remember when both teams won nine in a row. There was at least a level of competition from the Rangers teams in the Stein era. Our version of it became extremely tedious for me as a fan because of the severe lack of a Celtic challenge. At one point Aberdeen and Motherwell were our main rivals. We started playing pretty dire football by the end of it all despite still winning everything. I kind of think that's what people are alluding to Russ. We kind of knew we were going to win the league without really playing that well. It's happening again to both our clubs in the SPL and the third.

The cheaper prices, the uniqueness of the situation coupled with the siege mentality developed have provided far bigger home crowds than I thought feasible. I thought we would be doing really well to get 30,000 a week at the home games. Both clubs do extremely well attendance wise for what is essentially a flawed product. The flaunting of attendance figures is hardly surprising though is it given the tedious nature of both teams support. I mean honestly "Sevco" and "Savco" what a load of pish.

I tend to agree, however you will be unsurprised to learn that the first person to request such a FOI statment was a gers fan, when Celtic played Aberdeen on the opening day of the season.

<whistle>

You don't have to convince me that several factors are at play here Moses, I agree totally that the two clubs fanbases are missing each other, but according to the deluded, it is only Celtic who have seen attendances fall, and only because we really really really miss Rangers.
