    to entertain your wum thread.....

yes he has lost the plot. chasing constable for 3 months willing to spend £200,000 on him then after the 3rd rejection he came out and said we dont need a striker so we will use what we got.... huh?? <doh>
or how about playing a CB (virgo) up front while 2 strikers (clarkson/richards) were in midfield at CM and RW while a CM (lund) played at RB while a CM played LW? does that makes sense to you? after that game (wimbledon) he admitted they never prepared for the game thinking after the torquay game that we dominated (for 70 mins and against 10 men) that he thought we would win without preparing for wimbledon <doh> also admitting he has no faith in the youth players and they were only on the bench to make up the numbers. rather play virgo up front than a youth striker who knows that role and scores for fun at youth level. wonder how his confidence is now. also today we were losing 1-0 with 10 mins to go and nothing to lose. still had 1 sub left to use if we wanted. a youth striker on the bench. the same youth striker. instead of bringing him on he puts CB kenneth up front <doh>

    yes lost the plot.

however i dont think we will get relegated and sacking managers like we have been in recent seasons will not help us sacking him as well. whoever we bring in wont help as transfer window wont open until jan and were up to the max on our budget so will have to get rid before can bring in. big risk. we took that risk with PT and it backfired. not again for me.

    how about mcwinless?? ;)

Rodders you really do care :emoticon-0152-heart

Both clubs are in similar situations, playing poorly letting in too many goals, players outta position as CJ mentioned. To be fair City appear to be in a worse position than Rovers having lost so many games recently confidence is shot to peices.

Wheras we cannot afford to replace our manager the rot has already set in for City and you need a change, what about McCarthy he is on the market and will not take any prisoners definately keep you up Rodders and used to taking teams up.

Either that or let him go and dont replace it has worked for Blackburn.

Your board is alight with disgruntled supporters I am sure that the board will not wish to face another dismal season which this time may end up with relegation.

    Yeah Ipswich are ****e ain't they <laugh>

The good thing is as much as we were not very good today, we were ****ing awful the past few games. So little steps at a time, we are lacking confidence badly we just need a bit of luck and sooner enough we will meet another team performing **** to give us a bit of a boost.

Truthfully as much as I hate you lot when you beat us or the times you are ahead of us. I'm really pissed off with the state of football in Bristol. We should at least have a 20k plus support for at least one team but at the moment we ain't getting that between us.

My step father is a gas head (my granddad would of disowned my mum) who complains about Rovers saying he ain't wasting his money paying to see them and has not now for 3 years. But won't listen when I say if fans put their money into the turnstiles (I know spelt wrong) then the standard can be improved with more money. Hence why both teams can't compete, bit of a conundrum really ain't it put up with ****e for a few years finances improve pay for better players then improvement. Stay at home complaining you never see improvement.

    Oh well life's a bitch

My answer to the original is NO, thats not BLIND FAITH or BLUE TINT, we could go on and on in the managerial merry go round, I think we need stability at the club right now, a solid foundation from which to build, granted MM appears to have questions to answer, as mentioned before the build up to the season was far from perfect, I would have expected the board and management to have sat down at the end of last season or before and examined everything thats gone on at the club in recent years, looked at ways of improving things and not repeating past mistakes, MM should have got the players in and come up with a clear understanding that it was imperitive we didnt slip up at the first hurdle, what happened Oxford came along first home game of the season and we lose, it has not got much better and we find ourselves where we are at this moment in time.

Take this statement how you like, IT CANT BE THAT HARD TO COMPETE IN THIS LEAGUE? I see a good crowd base here of 5000 which with a little success on the pitch could quite easily increase to 6000, I see various employees of the club from players up driving very smart cars, and we have reportedly spent a tidy amount on players so far this season, so were better off than alot of others, why have so many came and gone at this club without even achieving moderate success.

I think the injury crisis also recuires a mention, are we recruiting to many crocs or is it a more complex problem, poor preparation, something wrong in the training regime, back room staff not performing as they should be!! 12 players out through injury, either rank bad luck or something very wrong which needs to be put right.

no one had a god given right to beat any other team. however where we were in the league after beating southampton 3-2 away (3rd in league 1) and now where we are struggling in the basement league while holding a big squad and one of the high budgets in the league and well supported fan bases, i expect to be beating the like of accrington and wimbledon and burton, teams with half the squad and budget and fan base that we have. but instead not only we cant beat them, we play poor against them and show no improvement either.
the injury crisis hasnt helped at all. and remember our player of the year last season woodards hasnt played any part yet.

a week ago our current starting 11 vs the injured 11 would of been this

    current 11

    -----------------etheridge-----------------
    lund------kenneth------parkes-----paterson
    w.brown---clarkson----norburn--broghammer
    ----------richards--------eaves------------

    vs injured 11

    ----------------bevan-----------------
    smith------virgo-----bolger----woodards
    hunter----l.brown-----gill---broghammer
    ----------harrold-------riordan---------

hammer used twice as been injured and played within last week.

on paper i dont think many teams have a better or stronger squad or more expensive squad. injuries have hit us hard. mcghee should be judge when he has a full team to select from but he has made so many mistakes from the team he has been selecting which is making people judge him now.

So what is the answer? Has the club done enough internally to put the wrongs right? It does not appear so.

at the same time though the board has financially backed all managers. thats all they can do really. they brought in buckle who a lot of people wanted. got rid of him which is what everyone wanted. they got in mcghee who is a big name and a real coup for any league 2 club and i thought and still do to a certain extent that mcghee will get it right. budgets been used. what else can the board do. the managers come in and doesnt work. players come in with a rep and we fail to see it.

I think they should of kept North in charge before appointing anyone in January just to see if he could change our fortunes around and because at the end of the day North would of been cheaper to pay off if things didn't wrok out much cheaper then the likes of Buckle and Penny.

we should have kept Penney in the first place and then we wouldn't have spent money on Buckle, North or MM now. Or in fact, with hindsight, we should have kept Trolls and Lennie at the helm as we were at least a decent mid table league one side at that point :(
