If you recall Boss, I did mention to you a while back that some players were concerned about the pre-match warm up work, which they felt was leaving them under prepared. Maybe this is a contributory factor to our slow starts ??

I think i agree with you as a whole...lets say a year down the line or even till say February we are still having these problems then id probably be questioning an aspect of AVB's management. Your totally right to voice concerns..and your also right in the sense that due to our decent start it has made it a bit more easier to swallow such a baffling Jekyll and Hyde performance week in week out.

it really does feel like to me as though AVb is finding his feet...now and again he steps on mines but hes been a breath if fresh air for me at our club and felt that that in itself deserves leeway from me.

We are knocking on the right doors.

Yeah I remember SC, that was when you also mentioned Freund and the players not convinced, am still abit confused as to why AVB has Freund as his assistant if he doesn't like the guy.

Surely a manager has to trust this assistant, what happens if Fruend speaks up in the dressing room, does AVB back him up? of course i'm not asking you for the answers! (unless you can sneak a camera into the dressing room!) ha
Dona, I must admit I am slowly starting to see positives in AVB and his style, so if we persist with this high pressing game, 4-2-3-1 and by the end of the year the team have started to improve greatly then as AVB said in his interview after the chelsea game "it doesn't matter about the result here or at the bridge, as long as we meet our seasons objectives" and that is his job, to meet the season objectives.

......but Andre, it would be nice if you managed to gee up the lads and get revenge against the chavs at the bridge!

I rated Saints before the season started. The way I reason, they're due for a good effort after having underperformed for a while, especially as they've gotten something of a tongue lashing. I'd feel relatively good if Dembele is back. If not, not. I agree there could be five goals or more. If both teams play their best, we should have an edge. But when does that ever happen? It will come down to who's firing on all cylinders on game day.

Walker stays for me. He is, as he says, still learning. My guess is he won't be mugged off on the touchline like that any time soon and dropping him will destroy his confidence. Can't argue with the rest though; Gallas surely cannot play without either Verts or Kaboul there to make up for his deficiencies and even then, against top sides, he may have played his last game.

Fair comments Chirpy, I'm not suggesting drop Walker permanently, BTW. I think he should and will be dropped v Maribor, but after that it just depends I guess on how well his replacement plays.

Agree with this. Can't see us keeping a clean sheet but some-one is due a tonking and Rickie is due a goal!

Are your defence bad enough to concede 4 goals back to back cause its the only chance we got at getting a result

If we play gallas and you play lambert then i expect a nightmare of a game for us, something stupid like a 3-3 with us taking the lead three times!

In our three away games we have actually looked solid at the back agaisnt newcastle (two stupid goals we conceded), reading and our defence stood up to man utd but i get the feeling this could be an open game which will suit you more then us.

He had a bit of a 'mare' on Saturday, and although I had wriiten him off months ago, in fairness to the player he has had a reasonable start to his season. I am not convinced AVB will leave him out for a player who he can't wait to sell (Dawson). If he does decide to omit Gallas, he's more likely to move Vertonghen to CB alongside Caulker and play either BAE if he's back to fitness, or Kyle Naughton.

Talking of Naughton, he will not feature at RB as there is no way in this world will Kyle Walker be dropped.

Chelsea fans voted him their man of the match, mainly for his inch-perfect assists for their first two goals...
