Seen some of it, but switch off cos I was getting angry anytime they showed footage of the ****in letch.

Heard on the news this morning that 2 charities he set up and are run using his name are shutting down. Monies currently held by these charities are being redistributed to other charities.

Did you see the bit with him and Gary Glitter sitting down with their arms around teenage girls? How the **** did they get away with it for so long?

I watched it as well. Shocking. Especially the bit what the wrote in his biography about hes crew managing to track down a lost girl after the police had contacted him. He said his reward will be a night with the girl then he would hand her over. The police were shocked the next day when he turned up with her first thing in the morning.

Didn't see the program last night but saw this clip on something the other day. What was it Savile said (as he and Glitter were all over the 2 girls), "we've got one each!" Sick ****er.

I hope there are people out there with very guilty consciences, those that knew about all this and said nothing.

The really sickening thing is the oft repeated line that nobody said anything ebcause he was raising so much money for charity and that would have suffered. Utter, utter guff. The likes of Stoke Mandeville would have been absolutely fine had it all come to light when it did as they would have been able to disassociate themselves form it immediately.

The phrase "tip of the iceberg" keeps popping up.

There's a reason for this.

The way the late 20th Century is viewed is about to be revised <ok>

The era of free love, freedom of expression as we've seen it up until now is now going to be viewed as the last few decades of chauvanism.

Check record sleeves in the seventies - openly showing girls supposed to be of school age in compromising positions - there was one called "sixteen and abused" or something showing a schoolgirl with ripped clothes in a public lavvie clearly having been pumped.

and...

Folk like Bowie and Page who have been viewed as heroes until now will be reviled as abusers.

Hairy Cornflake, Freddie Starr et al are about to have a world incomprehensible in modernity exposed.

Funny how things change.

What saddens me is that people waited til he was dead to accuse him of sex abuse with soundbites like "he had to be stopped" / "he shouldn't have been allowed to get away with it" etc

Well, you should have spoken up sooner!

I can see some people wanting to/needing to keep quiet but hundreds!!

True enough Biggus. I vividly remember Bill Wyman and Mandy Smith being photographed togther and the media lapped it up - she was 13 when they got together FFS! Hardly a day went by without the likes of her or Emma Ridley pictured in the skimpiest underwear imaginable - "Britain's Wild Child Sensations" went the by line rather than "this man may be a Rolling Stone but he's an animal; Where the hell are the parents and What kind of idiot doorman is letting these children into a club?".

What I mean is, revelations about an old pervert "celebrity" has had mass coverage and sparked anger/faux outrage in people in Britain, while there is serious bad stuff going on all over the world that very few people seem interested in and isnt being reported or investigated with half the effort that has went into covering this dead *****.

In terms of bad things in the world, this insignificant **** isnt worth it, we get it, he was a *****, lets move on and show the same interest in the real and current problems.

It's so much easier to shake your fist and moan about something that has already happened than take action on the bad ****e that is currently going on.

These folk making a big deal out of it probably do **** all to make a difference but bump their gums like **** about stuff on TV/Newspapers/Interent whenever the opportunity arises.

It was done in a titilating manner - the Daily Sport once had a countdown for a 15 yr old girl with big tits on their front page everyday until she turned 16.

In the future, "barely legal" porn sites will be 21+ only (which is a blow<grr>)
