Cheers for the replies, especially Mikey i was unaware of the work rates stats. Thinking about changing to a 4 1 2 1 2 formation but the formation changers are expensive so il be selling and rebuying the players a bit annoying! Will also be looking for a more balanced defence, i don't have it in me to put my team on ultra defensive!
My Old Bundesliga team liga was: IF Adler Piszczeck Hummels Badstuber Lahm (Alaba if you want a LB at LB) Javi Martinez Schweinsteiger Gotze Reus Van Der Vaart Lewendowski Formation: 4-2-3-1 Reus was literally unplayable, best player I have ever had except Pantilimon!
Well that's easy! In goal I'd suggest Tim Wiese of Hoffenheim or Roman Wiedenfeller of Dortmund. Wiese is outrageously overrated, good keeper IRL but he has 87 Diving and 91 Reflexes which is comparable to Manuel Neuer and only costs about 4/5 grand, compared to Neuer's 60k. Wiedenfeller is also very good all-round and affordable. At CB you've got a lot of options; Subotic, 81, Dortmund, Big, Strong, pretty quick and very good techinical stats in tackling and marking. Costs about 3k. Felipe Santana, 77, Dortmund, ridiculous 81 pace for a CB, but no mug in the air and all-round good defensively. Very good choice for one of the wider of your 3 CBs. About 6k. Naldo, 80, Wolfsburg, As I mentioned earlier, huge bloke, very quick for his size, physical animal. Only downside is that he now has an attacking work-rate. 3/4k. Then there's Howedes, Papadopoulos, Matip, all of Schalke, all good options, all bargains at about 1k and all good for different reasons. Howedes and Matip both just reasonably quick and decent players, Papadopoulos is a bit slower but has 90 strength and 85 jumping so don't expect him to get beaten in the air. Jerome Boateng from Bayern is another option, strong, nippy, but his defensive abilities only slightly above average. He costs about 3k. You've really got a lot of great options for CBs in the Bundesliga, particularly for a 3 at the back formation. I've played with all of the above except from Naldo who I had a lot on Fifa 12 and can recommend them all personally. At CDM there are a few good options too. Javi Martinez is the stand out at 83 overall rated, costs about 3k, pretty slow bugger but his strength is about 90, stamina about 85 and his passing, defending and heading are all stellar. Plays for Bayern Then you've got Luis Gustavo also of Bayern, and the Bender brothers Sven and Lars of Dortmund and Leverkusen respectively. All good all-round players defensively and offensively, and can grab them for less than a grand. Jermaine Jones of Schalke is another bargain option, good all-round player you can pick up for peanuts, quick, good defensively, decent passing. You can also pick up CMs like Gundogan from Dortmund and Holtby of Schalke, but I found them both too weak defensively. At RM there is one stand-out player that I loved playing with and have heard rave reviews from others of. That is Jefferson Farfan of Schalke, 91 pace, great dribbling, great crossing, good shooting, and surprisingly strong. Will set you back about 6k and would definitely recommend him. Despite that, another option would be Xherdan Shaqiri from Bayern, slightly slower but even better dribbling, only downsides are weak crossing and that he's left footed, but he's actually good defensively so that helps in a 3 at the back formation. LM is the same story, one stand-out and one back out. Stand-out is Andre Schurrle or Leverkusen. I believe he has 88 pace, he's also got good dribbling and decent crossing. But there's one thing that sets him apart. 88 long shots. Yes that's 88, to go with 86 shot power. And he's right footed so you can cut in and really unleash the kraken. Probably scored some of my best goals of Fifa 13 with him, and he's only about 2k. The alternative is Eljero Elia who is quicker and a better dribbler, including 5* skills, but he can't hit a barn-door from outside the box. At CAM I'd suggest a few different options. One has already been mentioned Toni Kroos who I have played with and he is a cracking player, brilliant passing and great shooting, and his long shots are right up there with Schurrle's and he has a great weak foot. Only downside is that he's a slow bastard! He only costs about 4 grand. His Bayern buddy Thomas Muller is a couple grand more, is a lot quicker I think he has 83 pace, but he doesn't have quite the incredible passing or shooting of Kroos, but he's no mug in those regard. Another player who goes under-the-radar is Diego of Wolfsberg, not lightning quick but not slow, in between Kroos and Muller in that regard, but he has fantastic dribbling and passing, not great shooting but good enough. And he's only about 2k. I've played with all three of them alternating in a 4-2-3-1 and they're all great. Up front there are two great options who I'd definitely recommend and were mentioned earlier. Lewandowski from Dortmund and Arnautovic of Werder Bremen. They are both very similar players. Quick, not lightning but enough to comfortable outrun almost any CBs, strong, very good shooting especially with power, and especially Arnautovic is strong in the air as he's a big bugger, and Lewandowski is no mug in the air. Both 4* weak foot, and Arnautovic has some skills. Lewandowski is up and around your price limit of 8k, but Arnautovic is only a grand and one of the best players I have used on any Fifa for that price. Hope that helps, I wont give you any chemistry tips as I'm sure you can fit them together nicely!
Wow, that's helped a load! You should make YouTube videos I think. Fantastic knowledge. All I can think of doing is converting Kroos to CDM, where pace isn't important, make him play a Pirlo role, and then get Muller. Good idea? Picked up Farfan for 4.6k. From this, I've got: ---------------Weise----------- Subotic------Santana-----Naldo----- ---------Kroos/Gundogan----Martinez----- Farfan--------------------Schurrle ---------------Muller/Kroos----------- ---Lewandowski------------Gomez
Despite some less than impressive stats hunteelar (sp) is fantastic, get him anywhere within a 30yard radius on goal and he'll finish it. Just don't try and dribble with him his dribbling and pace make him a nightmare in that regard. Mikey glossed over Gudongan (sp) but he's the best non rare in the game by a margin, best player I had in my bundesliga bar kroos. My real suggestion is to make a french team though, Ben Arfa is god.
Appreciate your words and that would be a good team. Don't expect Kroos or Gundogan to be able to contribute that much defensively, but they will do well regardless, good players to pick up the ball and start moves with, and Kroos can arrive late and smash some longshots with Martinez should make up the numbers defensively. I understand going for Gomez up top, but at the very least snap Arnautovic up for a grand and give him a go every now and then, you wont regret it, trust me. Huntelaar is another very good player and would consider him next in line behind Gomez, Lewandowski, and Arnautovic, had him a lot on Fifa 12 but not yet on Fifa 13 so didn't end up listing him. Gundogan is indeed a very good player, but I used him as a CDM when I played him and he just frequently went wandering due to his attacking work-rate and even when he did get back he didn't have the defensive abilities to do much. Definitely a fantastic player in a more attacking roles, but for me those were filled by Kroos, Muller or Diego so he didn't get much of an outing. He might work for others at CDM though, just not for me in the team I used.
Got Arnautovic and Huntelaar, but already had Gomez as a first owner, and he's great, so play him. No doubt Arnautovic is quality, and probably the best value for money out there. Tried Gundogan at CDM, and couldn't fault him. Kroos has a hell of a pass on him so I'll test him out there too. Love Weise as well.
Just sold Ramirez to Bayern for £45m on career mode, board only gave me £21m of it though! Cortese out.
