Posted this on 606 but here's something to think about as well.
    Scenario 1:
Huge fine+promotion=net effect, a small fine!
Impact, fans not punished but club not punished suitably as they get increased revenue in the premiership and parachute payments should they be relegated at the end of the season.

    Scenario 2
    Huge fine+promotion+transfer embargo=net effect, a small fine!
Impact, fans not punished but club not punished suitably as they get increased revenue in the premiership and parachute payments should they be relegated at the end of the season.

Surely if they are found guilty the only option is a huge fine and a points deduction to keep them in the championship. Anything less (based on case history) would seem inconsistent with the approach already taken and current FA regs.
As this has covered a number of seasons it is difficult to see how anything other than a huge fine and points deducted can be considered.
Really hard on the fans but if a club can be deducted points, for going into administration, due to proven miss-management then a rich club that's been found guilty of miss-management they should be penalised using the same logic?
Differing views wherever you look, the bbc stated last week on football focus they believed it would only be a fine. The Sun yesterday stated a points deduction.
Unfortunately I believe the poor fans will lose out again. I really don't see how anything less than a deduction of points and a fine can be seen as a punishment.

With the amount of money to be earned from going up, a fine would be nothing more than a slight inconvenience for a rich club like QPR. Deducting enough points to give them a shot at the play offs would at least give them a chance of promotion...... If they refused to take part in the play offs the opposition team would be given a free run to the final.............

Why would granting a 2nd chance be suitable, if they went on to win the play offs then there is no punishment

I hope you aren't a representation of all QPR fans (seen as i've rarely heard from one before) with some of your comments.

The points deduction figure is thought to be 15 pts, that would keep them in the top 6 thai...

That's right, thought to be, is pure speculation.

The only reason I suggested a possible higher point deduction would be to ensure they could not take part in the play offs, thus actually handing out a proper punishment.

I would think anything other than that could be deemed as inappropriate.

The play offs are not easy and i believe 15 pts is about right....If Millwall win the next 2 or Forest, 15 pts would give QPR 7th or 8th..... Don t start with me, everything is speculation. so unless you have had any FA execs visiting you in Thailand giving you inside info? There is not any point in entering this debate....

<laugh> ...coming from a Cardiff City fan?

Your mob should be banned from English football and ****ed off back to the Welsh league where you belong.
You fans' violence and disgusting anti-English vitriol should see YOU fined - never mind QPR.

I don't think we'll be denied promotion as that is fining 90M and deducting points which would basically be the biggest punishment in english football ever

That's what happened to Swindon, it was the biggest punishment in english football at the time (not £90m of course, but still a huge punishment at that time)

Also, with West Ham the crime was committed by Terry Brown, who sold West Ham with Tevez and masch as 'assets'. the people who colluded in this crime (joorabchian & Terry Brown) got away scot free and both with huge profits out of it. QPR have done it themselves, tbh Brown and Joorabchian should really face fraud charges. So really it is a different kettle of fish

I think some of the views expressed here against QPR are a bit extreme. Yes they've broken the rules but it's not as if they've gained a great advantage as a result.

We'll now see if it holds true that the lower clubs get screwed while the prem clubs get looked after.

I think it is painfully clear that Sheff would have went down if the shoe was on the pther foot, the FA would have found in favour of West Ham and sent Sheff down anyways. Lower clubs nearly always get heavier penalties.

A premiership on pitch brawl gets less pnishment than Championship 1st 2nd 3rd division rule breaking offences.

Someone mentioned them starting the season on minus points in the premier league next year, I reckon that could happen if all the allegations are true, but I would probably think they will just get a slap on the wrists and a cheeky fine.

If they let them off it's sending a message out to all of the other clubs in the FL. They should be hit with a points deduction of about 10 imo.

Utter load of ****, West Ham were very harshly done by, the previous record fine for this in th UK was £25,000, that was 6 months prior to West Hams case. West Ham ended up paying £35.5m, how can you possibly say West Ham were treated fairly when it cost them more than 100,000% more? you lot know absolute jack **** about anything unless you read it in the Sun.

Excellent debating points Joker. I hope the FA do not punish the reasonable and well adjusted QPR fans but for people of your ilk, well not much to be said as your posting says more about you and your mentality. So jog on boy.
