A few miles from CCS, a few hours from promotion!
Had I tried a knee slide in the various Cardiff parks, after one of my many goals, there would have been every likelihood of dislocating something. I have just watched Charlie Austin attempt to do the same following his sixteenth goal of the season...his seventh in consecutive games When will managers ban it?
What a player?
 
I had nine stiches in a knee when I found a stone on a rugby pitch. I also played on a few pitches where your knees would have been stinking of dog **** for weeks if you'd done a knee slide!
 
I have dislocated my knee doing a slide before. I had dodgy knees anyway, but this finally stopped me playing when I scored a goal, did a knee slide, but my knee cap stayed where it was while the rest of me slid forward.
 
Anyone remember the Carn Colliery pitch in Blaengarw? Looked green on top, but what was underneath?

If you'd done a knee slide on that back in the 60/70's, you have taken home a hundredweight of nutty slack in your socks.
