I guess another manager who could be available before too long would be Mark Hughes. I'm expecting Harry to be in charge of QPR before Xmas, but then Hughes' record is patchy to say the least. But when he gets it right, he gets it right.

Voted no of course, I think personally l wouldn't even consider Adkins firing unless something disasterous happens. Our next six games are:

    Spurs (H)
    WBA (A)
    Swansea (H)
    QPR (A)
    Newcastle (H)
    Norwich (H)

Personally expect a minimum of 10 points from those games. Beat Swansea, QPR and Norwich, take a draw from one of Spurs, WBA and Newcastle. 8 or 9 points acceptable, anything less and then I'd really be starting to have questions about changes needed to be made. A good time for changes I think, if there was to be a new manager, good to give them a few games before January to get a feel for the team and make better judgements about any transfers that need to be made rather than bringing someone in post-christmas and having them know almost nothing about the team. Got to find a balance between giving Adkins time to prove he deserves the faith we have in him, and time for any new manager that may come in to have an effect.

A big no from me - Nigel needs plenty of time yet. No available manager is going to wave a magic wand over the remainder of this season. Lets see how it goes, even if it means relegation in may, which is a long way away yet, and start again. Half the problem with football today is the managerial merry-go-round and in my opinion half the kids on here think its just like playing fifa 13 !

I would like to keep Adkins ( he will be a top manager someday ) But get someone in to help out ! could be a job for Rednapp ? or maybe he will be a distructive influence ? very difficult to see where we go from here .

Though I voted no there is one thing that concerns me.

Nigel brought in several players last summer and I am still puzzled by the lack of a genuine enforcer in midfield and a solid no nonsense defender at the back. I would have thought that the time-span available was plenty long enough to sort that out before the season began.

Adkins video now on SaintsPlayer for those who were perhaps struggling to interpret comments.

    He really is massively downbeat.

    Hahahahaha.

To respond to the OP, no. Don't think it'd help at all.

So you expect us to get about 20 points this season then? Do you really think we don't stand a good chance of beating Swansea, QPR and Norwich, two of those games being at home? Because if so then you must think we're really really terrible. Which we aren't.

Is that based on us having a new manager or do you think it won't make any difference?

Thats based on things staying as they are now, with no change i cant see us picking up 30 points this season.

Well as I said in my post, we can beat Swansea, QPR and Norwich. Swansea are not a particularly good side but people get easily fooled, they had a good couple of opening games against West Ham and QPR who were both absolutely terrible on the day, people started raving and discussing them as top-8 contenders and then since then have really struggled, we play them at home, after they play City and Liverpool away and then have Chelsea visit them, they could take some real lickings and be low on confidence: very winnable game. QPR are rock bottom and are looking dismal for all the big names they brought in, we play them away but that could even benefit us with the pressure from their fans, if we take a lead the boos will come out and they could collapse, they could even have a new manager by the time we play them, or they could have sorted it out and started playing as a team, but who knows, but as it stands right now: very winnable game. Then there's Norwich who despite getting a big win today are just not a very good team, the whole basis of their chances is in team-work and organisation, the foundations of their success last season, they haven't showed enough of that this season, and if we show the gulf in class between the two sides we could give them a good roasting, so: another very winnable fixture at home. Then we have our three toughest games, Newcastle and Tottenham at home, and West Brom away. West Brom are not the same quality of Newcastle and Spurs, but have had a great start to the season and their home form is great, but despite that, we could still easily come away from that game with a point if we play well, then Newcastle and Spurs on their day are very very dangerous teams, but they blow hot and cold, and we play both of them at home, if they don't have one of their good games, and we put a good performance in, again, we could easily take a point from one of those games. So we have three very winnable games, and three tough games but games which we could easily manage to snag a point from at least one of. Three wins + One draw = 10 points. At the very least I'd say we should be able to pick up Two wins and a draw.

Blackmore of Solent says he spoke to Cortese off-the-record last month and he re-iterated that he sees long-term stability as very important.

So he spoke to him off-the-record and then publically announced what he said? Not sure he'll be getting too many scoops from Nicola!

im pleased at least some people on here aren't always claiming to be th ultimate superfans, and actually look at things in a realistic way. Nigel had 2 weeks to come up with a plan for this match, putting Lambert on the bench was not the one he should have used.
