Thought we needed a pole. No wishy washy answers I.E "oh give him some more time". Just a simple yes or no. Just at this moment do you think he should be our manager? Poll is anonymous but feel free to argue about it in here. (I should stress I'm not a whiner just wanted to see which side the forum will take).
Like I said earlier: Adkins out, angry forum/twitter/facebook users in because they clearly know much more.
Wishy washy answers are allowed in the comments, I just specifically didn't put them in the poll to avoid people ducking out and taking the easiest option.
I don't really see the point, I doubt Mourinho could do much better given the defence he would have to play with. If transfer funds are there to play within Jan, then you might as well let Adkins spend them, I'm sure he can see where the problem lies. The only caveat to that, is whether it's Adkins' name (or lack of) that is preventing us getting the players we need. If that's the case it would need a massive name in terms of manager to lure players to us in January when virtually everyone will have us as one of the favourites for the drop.
I voted no. Not sure why saying "No, give him more time" is wishy-washy. I was never very sure of Saints ability to stay up, in part because I think Adkins (and the rest of the team) would need to learn to adjust. But I have also never felt that relegation would be a disaster. For better or worse, Saints are playing for the long haul by buying young players with potential and attackers instead of defenders instead of taking the approach West Ham did. I would give Adkins until this year's end. If they are still performing the way they did today, I would make the change. I don't think you have any choice. Give the next manager half a season to get things in order for next year. I'm not asking Saints to avoid relegation or completely turn things around in the next two months, but today was unacceptable.
Probably not a popular view, but I thought his tactical decisions were very good today; we had them exactly where we wanted them in the first half and poor mistakes have led to the goals; Boruc's hesitance, Yoshida's positioning and Fonte's "lead with the arm" approach are not down to Nigel.
as mentioned what other managers are there around at the moment? Hoddle? Harry? no thanks. but, as adkins says himself football is a results buisness, I want to stay loyal to him afterall he took us from league 1 to the prem, but we can't keep going on like this for much longer. we'll be down and out before we know it.
I think you should stick with him- unless you can find a high-profile Prem manager to replace him. How about Owen Coyle, or one of the usual suspects in Mick McCarthy, Phil Brown e.t.c . Maybe even Redkanapp.. Who knows ?? Don't just sack him to put an interim manager in instead- it hardly ever works. Looks at Wolves last season, with Terry Connor. They lost all 12 games I believe! Good Luck for your Season
Just to clarify I voted no. But if it's going to happen get it over and done with now, so whoever comes in has time to get used to the squad and identify their targets and indulge in a bit of tapping up before January.
