Did anybody see Dermot Gallagher on Sky earlier today?
He said that just as u21 players are learning about international matches, so are the referees in these matches.
This kind of thing should have been predicted and maybe a stronger experienced ref could have been appointed.
He also said, that he could quite understand if a national team took it's players off hte pitch and walked off, because things were getting that bad.
I can't helo thinking that if missiles were being thrown onto the pitch in a league game, the referee would stop the game because he has a responsibility to the safety of the players.
Is it different in internationals, or are the refs to scared at missing out on extra money and prestige? Just a thought.
