I have had a punt on Andy Turnells CAULFIELDS VENTURE 14-1 4.20 Wincanton on Thursday. This horse has flattered to deceive on a few occasions thus far but I firmly believe that all the conditions tomorrow will suit. He has dropped several pounds from his original opening mark and with a seven pound claimer up he as a featherweight to carry. Turnell is a shrewd operator and they are definitely having a nibble at this one, in a relatively small handicap field he looks a cracking each way punt to me.
Ok Stick - I'll believe you (as I'm gullible ) and have doubled it up with Provo in the 2-50 It's an interesting race with the Nichols horse among 3 or 4 unexposed newbies who could be anything. Good luck
Trifolium due to run at Punchestown tomorrow and will make his first step on a road that might lead to a crack at a Champion Hurdle, so see how he goes. Certainly won't mind the soft ground.
Would be very surprised if Punc goes ahead tomorrow. Been raining on and off all day in the Dublin area so unlikely that any of the water logging has eased since this morning.
Morning all Very interested to see how Cowards Close goes in the opener at Wincanton - potentially one of Nicholls better juveniles. Punchestown gets the green light so we finally get to see Tarla in the opener.

Afternoon guys and gals hope everyone is bashing those bookie chaps! I've received a text informing me that AAZIF 8.0 kempton 6/1 is out to win tonight and has been working very well on the gallops good luck if you decide to play tonight I know I am
Right, we're going for a ROTO today: 2:00 Wolverhampton: NICKEL SILVER 33/1 Is drawn a bit wide which is always a worry but he is better held up anyway IMO as shown when weakening from up with the pace in a claimer LTO. This is a horse who won off 92, yes ninety-two on the all weather in Feb 2010 and there have been glimpses of cashing in off a mark of todays 67 in his few starts this summer- especially when hitting brick walls about 4 or 5 times in one race at Beverley and never ever getting a run when well behind Last Sovereign. He was then last off the bridle at Beverley but had no fuel left in the tank when beaten 2L into 5th on his next start. I think this horse is due to pop up at some point and I think providing they don't use up too much gas just switching him over into the pack at Wolverhampton, he could go well at a big price. Has won over CD before and also has a 2nd and a 3rd to his name at this venue. Will need some luck but his price takes that into account.
Agree with Heis re punchestown being a favourites day. Couple I do like though: 2.45 - Gallant Oscar 16/1 - Will enjoy the mud and going on his penultimate run behind some fairly good horses he can take this weak race. 3.45 - Special Tiara 4/1 - I have him rated in the high 130s judging by the horses he has beaten. Should come on again from his win on chase debut, very keen on this one.
leg 1 of 3 done of my round robin- only Trifolium and Joncol to go- on paper they shoud p*ss it but bets arent won on paper (just written)
