Professional fouls happen in every game. I can fully imagine Adam wanted to clip his heels, make the foul, stop the potential attack; injure him though? No.
like i said take the player out,but he wanted to injure him to,because that is what Adam does,he done it all his career.
I think it's a very poorly timed, over-eager challenge - certainly he wants Bale to know he's there, and as captain was probably trying to go in hard and set an example... but deliberately injure? Sincerely doubt it.

I'd agree with that and think he can be a malicious player. There's a lot of clumsy players who make reckless challenges because they simpoly can't tackle (Scholes automatically springs to mind) but for me Adams sometimes crosses the line and does it out of malice.
And Scholes doesn't? Maybe you should look at some videos of the Great Paul Scholes and his "Bad" tackling, he can be a vicious little mug when he wants to be and not adverse to swinging his fist at a player either, most of his sliding tackles are TO bring the player down and feck all to do with the ball. Yes Adam can be dirty for sure.

The worst thing about Scholes is he served as an inspiration for others to copy his tactics - Chelsea under Mourinho had several players who would scythe down opponents making a break (Lampard and Ballack being chief culprits) because Scholes has been allowed to do it so long not just by referees, but commentators and journalists as well.

Scholes used to kick Alonso as much as he could. Remember he ninja kicked his upper thigh once (went unpunished of course, bless wee Paul he never learned to tackle).
That's the attitude from pundits that absolutely bugs the **** out of me.
Robbie Savage would commit a foul, Scholes would commit an identical one and the reaction to both would be a complete mirror.
Not only did they both know exactly what they were doing, but they learned to do it in the same bloody place!
