"Good grief thats all we need at the moment.......will Fletcher be able to cope ?" I actually find that plain bloody silly - more than a little foolish. I was being delicate as I have no desire for the distaff side to gang up on me...

Yes, Plymborn, the last few seasons have been dire but I honestly think things are on the up. The league is so tight that a couple of wins could see us in the play-offs and we are closer to that than the relegation places. Always look on the bright side of life...<whistle> and remember, an ellipsis is only ever three dots...

Could you not tell that that was said with tongue in cheek Westernmac........Barnet would need more than 48 hrs of any coach in the world to show any form of improvement of even doing up their boots.

It did seem from reading between the lines that their existing trainer didn't know that he was sharing his job with Davids........one report suggested that he didn't look at Davids during the match......and then for the referee to gift Argyle a goal at the very beginning followed by their new striker Collins John limping off after 14 mins.....he probably thought that Davids could have the damn job........I just can't see it working out.

How can Barnet afford such a big profile name to join them ?....is he free.........the only plus was the doubling of the gate from 1500 estimate to 3229.....even when you take off 1000 green army supporters....it leaves them with an extra 700 estimate fans through the turnstiles......maybe thats how they hope to pay him some pocket money.

Sensible - you dodge the $64,000 question effortlessly.

If travelling has no effect [which I disagree with, but will let it pass], why is it then we are one of a few clubs who do better away than at home? This isn't just this season, it's been a fairly constant feature over the past years of decline.

Fletcher isn't more tactically inept inside Devon than he is outside is he, so it's not that........

    Tee hee.....40 - love.

Come on sensible, never known to use 10 words when 17,468 will do.

    Verbosity in trumps.

    Ignoring the Potteried gnome.......

I don't think I ignored it notdistant. There isn't a team that visits here with the exception of the very local ones who travels on a Saturday anymore. The stay overnight and play the next day as do we. In the old days, teams came on a bus setting off at 5am in the morning or whatever. The distance they have to come is therefore not the same advantage it once was.

As for our away form it would seem logical that if other teams struggle in travelling then we would suffer more than most. We have had better away form than home because of confidence in front of the home supporters in my opinion. I have no idea why that came about but it has. If this mindset can be overcome then I think Argyle would improve no end in win ratio.

We obviously play better away....because of those nasty home fans upsetting the lads at home by booing at them

    or

It is so clear that travelling down the day before makes so much difference to the away team....rested,relaxed and fresh.

"Could you not tell that that was said with tongue in cheek Westernmac" Sorry, plym, I couldn't because you are so down on Fletcher all the time. I don't really understand why you (& a lot of others) are quite so negative. This time last season we were looking up at everyone with a nasty gap opening above us. As of now, we are very much a mid-table side. I wish we were burning up the league but we're probably a few players away from being able to do that. We very much need a Friio or a Nallis to add a bit of flair and imagination. We appear to have good wide players and perhaps a good strong centre forward of the somewhat old-fashioned sort. Still, League 2 can be physical and he's a big strong lad.

Things are, I believe, better than they have been since we went into receivership. We are getting a sound financial base, we are trying to play good football and we have some good young players. Sensible has commented on defensive frailties compared with last year and I do think this is down to not having the Wotton/Walton screen in front of the back four. However, when we did, everyone moaned because we were boring and uninspired going forward. Now we are playing some good stuff, at least some of the time, we leak a few goals.

Give it a bit of time and keep the faith, we are better than 18th place, for sure, but not yet league winners.

Mods. Please don't ban the troll it's the sort of attention he is seeking. Just let him stay and look stupid all on his own.

One of the problems I think is that Purse for example is or was carrying an injury. I hope that is the case anyway because he has been to blame for most of the goals against. Sorry to single one out but he has been the stand out culprit and it was he and Blanchard who shored up the defence last term. We are somebody short in front of them and we do better with a Wotton type player there.

We are better than last term in terms of play and of course results at this stage of the season. The problem is that when they are poor they are very very poor and supporters, maybe wrongly, did expect more this season than what looked like another struggle. They are trying to play football is also true. Sometimes not very successfully but trying nonetheless. It is what people wanted so they can't complain too loudly.

Thanks mate I will do my best not to disappoint :emoticon-0110-tongu

Purse does not seem himself and apparently has been carrying an injury all season. That said I still think the problem is not just infront of the back four but behind too. Whilst a great shot stopper still not a good keeper for me. Although it would seem a bit harsh to drop him considering a couple of the saves he has made recently.... I still would.

    Go crawl under your bridge.......<yikes>

I have exactly the same reservations about Cole as you do mexijan. Having watched him for a goodly while now I just don't understand a keeper who doesn't come off his line for virtually anything. He just flaps at crosses in the air and it's not a wonder it is in the air where we lack goal stopping. I have lost count of the number of dead ball situations we have conceeded a goal to. Great as a shot stopper it's true but he fills me with dread at times.

I don't remember attacking you Nicky or even contacting you so not sure where the "can't resist" comes in. I have done to you what you are doing on here. There is not one threat in my post on the Stoke board and anyone here can go look for themselves. You are just a sad sad little man behind a keyboard because you didn't answer on there in front of your fellow Stokies you just slide back on here to do it. Grow a pair Nicky is my advice and do come see me if you are ever down this way.

And Barnet bang them in and win 4 - 0. Who'd have thought that? Well nobody actually looking at the forecast league.
