YV did you hear what Hendry said about teamates diving? He said if any of his team did that he would sort them out in the tunnel later- totally out of order!

Mind you he did say later that Bale was world class after his great goal.

I did. I wouldn't take it too seriously, old defenders usually like to talk about how 'ard they were back in the day.

Some of the real old'uns were hard as nails. Hendry was a pussycat compared to the likes of Mackay, Harris, hunter, etc. Dave Mackay would have eaten Hendry for a snack!..

Far, far worse than diving is the sight and actions of defenders kicking lumps out of players more talented than they are. I'm not saying that Hendry did that BTW, I can't remember enough about him. I do know that many modern defenders can't live with Bale so they foul him instead, that is the disgraceful shaming of the game and the awful cheating, far, far worse than Bale's 'diving', which tends to be him taking sensible evasive action..

Bale has felt himself get clipped and resulted in his foot kicking the back of his leg, yes he could stay up but he knows if he goes down he will get a penalty due to there being contact, especially since Wales desperately needed to win he is obviously gonna go down to the minimum amount of contact.

Contact is contact whether it's a tickle or a punch.

That was a trip albeit accidental. So that means a penalty in any book including Liverpool's.Ask Suarez,or whatever that Woodchucks name is.....

An athlete like Bale goes down as if shot after minimal contact by the 5'7", 10 and a half stone Maloney.

He wouldn't be much use in rugby for all his speed.

You've obviously never played Rugby, Luke. As I've said, it's called a Tap Tackle for that reason. It's all about using the opposing players speed and momentum to bring him down. If you "Tap" the tackled leg whilst it's off the ground, size and weight matter not a jot, their own forward momentum brings them crashing down.

Good to see that somebody remembers something from their Physics lessons ! Is it still taught in schools ? If not then it hasn't been replaced with commonsense lessons !
Another thing that seems not to be taught ( in driving lessons ), is the use of indicators - especially on a roundabout <grr>

It's just been reported that the next World Diving Challenge will be held at the home of the present World Champions........Liverpool! Where else?
