just read after being lwt go by bremen in the summer he is training at united again.

i know he is getting on but with a free transfer could be worth brining in. someone who knows what playing in the prem is like. can also play left back and at worse juat passes on experience.

seems like you couldnt lose on this. bring him in..... thoughts?

apparently John Mensah is available as well, either would be good for us in my opinion.

Silvestre was mentioned on the forum a few weeks ago. Not sure of his age, however I would imagine him to be fairly fit. I would think it would be beneficial to invite him training for a week to take a look.

My only concern would be that he was never the calmest of defenders.

Wish we could clone Tony Adams.

Guly seems to have tried copying one aspect of him.

Tried being the operative word ! I reckon that in his heyday Tony Adams would have drunk Guly under the table - before getting up and driving home !

On the topic of central defenders I saw this week that Kolo Toure has stated that he wants to stay and fight for his place at City. He really doesn't seem to be getting a look in at the moment and I had completely forgotten about him. Would love us to push the boat out and get him in on loan in January. I know his wages would be high but his strength and experience would serve us well in the run in. I can but dream.....

Reo Coker has just joined Ipswich! May not be a defender but he is defensive and would have offered the centre backs protection! Why are we missing these tricks?

Maybe we should see how he does for Ipswich (2nd bottom of Championship) before we decide if we missed out. Anyway not sure we are too short in that position.

Maybe, hear me out on this, just maybe there's a reason why in 5 months since he became free to sign, literally nobody wanted him except a team facing relegation in the Championship. Perhaps that's not a missed trick.

Maybe your right and maybe it might be nothing to do with his footballing ability, he might be an awkward little sod, however when I have seen him recently i thought he has always been a good energy on the pitch and helped protect the defence!

Wasn't reo coker at the centre of west hams problems all those years ago? Fans of clubs he played for don't seem over keen, not sure there would be any benefit what so ever in signing that little ****.

Silvestre, was he ever actually any good? Man U are able to carry the odd average player.

Getting Buttner on loan would be excellent though. He's not doing an awful lot at united at the moment, we should offer to give him some prem experiance!

Buttner has played and scored for United...wishful thinking we would get him.
