I gave post references, so why not read them? As for making them up as I go along, I've said them plenty of times in plenty of threads over time, so that's an accusation that falls flatter than Brendan Rodgers' card tricks. Expanding on the point I made to BBF's comment about Liverpool fans and their history, there is one thing that he should probably clarify - is he implying that no other set of fans respect their respective club's history? That's utter troutswallop, and you know it. The difference is that Liverpool fans have turned their history into a form of Top Trumps, so rather than something to be proud of it's turned into a form of points scoring, just like the stat-happy droning of Holte Legends or the utterly pathetic gloating of Forest fans that they'd won a couple of European Cups when their club were playing in League One. Spurs fans are proud of their club's history, but you know what? We don't spend our time beating other fans around the head with it, just like fans of teams from Man Utd to Real Madrid to Celtic to Juventus to Ajax don't - because those sets of fans have seen their club as the dominant force in the present day. Yes, some sets of fans (notably Man Utd and Chelsea's) have a pretty obnoxious sense of entitlement because of it, but Liverpool fans also have a sense of entitlement without the logical reason to back it up. History is fine, as long as it's treated as history instead of a blueprint for present or future success. If it isn't, it becomes the equivalent of the boneheaded tub-thumping about 1966 the British press like to make for every World Cup these days, despite the fact they were banging on about it more for the 2010 tournament than they were in 1990.
Okay, I'm going to put my neck on the block, here, and predict that 'Pool will finish in the bottom 8, this season.
The amount of times you get everything wrong I hope you're a fking hydra mate. How many heads you lost now? Would you not be transparent and say I wish instead of predict
One of HIAGs recent classic statements. This the same Torres that won the CL with Chelsea and are top of the premiership and he's scoring. All because Spurs had a blip, getting 4th is a blip from the norm for your lot Although I will admit I felt for ye when Stoke won the CL and took yer place. Worst Liverpool for years I hear now every year, yet... they've still won far more than spurs this decade, never mind the 80s n 70s. So Breathe that bitterness deep and enjoy our woes. It is not lost on us Liverpool supporters that fans of a club of lesser successful history tend to deride history as a result. Like United fans right up until they got 18 titles and then 19, it was all history until then
When a beast falls the vultures will descend. But football changes quickly. A couple of shrewd signings, a little form and we'll be a pretty tidy outfit.
But consider all the things that I got right... Clown Prince Benitez would walk - he did Downing and Carroll would be donkeys - they are Suarez wouldn't be a sensation in the EPL - he isn't Roy Rodgers lacks the class or experience to get you any higher than mid table - he does You wouldn't finish any higher than 7th, last season - you finished 8th And that's merely the stuff I've predicted about 'Pool.
"I have no idea who the vice-president of FIFA is" - Luis Suarez So he's as ignorant as he is racist and he is a cheat...
Would you have known him by name before two days ago? Not many people would have. Poor attempt, must try harder... C-
It's in the interests of Suarez, and everyone else involved in top level football, to be aware of who senior figures of FIFA are. Ungraded.
How is it clutching at straws? Football is governed by FIFA, so he should know the senior figures in it. Just like people in this country should show some awareness to the names of the senior members of the current coalition government. You can name George Osbourne and Michael Gove, can't you?
You're clearly quite desperate to find some fault or another with him. The man is a bureaucrat, who, if he hadn't have made such comments, would still be largely anonymous. You're implying that Suarez has committed some grave sin which no other footballer would have committed. Would you like to criticise something more meaningful, like our new stadium plans?
