He was telling a white lie to appease Bates. GC has been talking to someone inside GFH, but on an off-the-record, unofficial basis (see his Twitter). The statement is worded so Haigh can lick Bates' arse to prepare him for the final climax where he actually hands over the keys and gives GFH the club. He's tweeted to that effect with the 'Leeds UNITED' thing and by saying that he still wants to talk to LUST and LUSC.

The 4m was never said to be for players and wages. It was so pay off some kind of debt within the club, whatever it was that was causing much of the cashflow issue. Boozie said as much.

Come on Jerel - how can you still stick up for LUST despite all the wrong stuff they have printed?

A few days ago, LUST printed that "GFH were not the original bidders and had only come to the table in the last 6 weeks" how can they have been talking to them since June if that were the case?
Think they (LUST) have already used this T/O malarkey to excellent effect as their nimbers have gone from 900 to over 8,000 - so you have to give GC credit there - I bet the LUST website has had millions of hits since May. They should now be looking ahead and thinking how to maximise this membership - instead of a website spouting off their rumours and allegations, they should make it a proper fan based website - get some advertising on there, run a few competitons, do a few player and ex-player interviews, put its message board in a different format and making it members only and put this shady business behind them. After a few months, they would not have to charge for memberships as the site alone would be a nice little earner - would probably pay for a few functions for its members - even a corporate box or 2!!
 
Before I start countering this rubbish, I just want to point out for the record that I know I'm being fished as good as a Latvian lamprey by this Millwall wind-up merchant who ultimately is nothing to Leeds United. But just to continue my 'apologist' status, I will persist nonetheless:

Because, as they understood it, they were just an interested party up to that point and not an actual bidder? Not saying all their sources and statements have been 100%, but they've been far better than what anyone else has been able to offer, and all done with selfless intentions. For all either of us know, that could have been true.

There are already plenty of sites like that. I don't see why the Leeds United collective should whore itself to advertizers. Sponsors who don't want to tarnish our name with their selfish products, fine, but we should be more than a materialistic marketing platform. Something special.

I agree LUST have great momentum and it should be consolidated - but there's still a hell of a lot to fight even if Bates goes. It is still, ultimately, a protest group to help the fans scrap and niggle until we get our voices heard, get the terraces back, get the atmosphere back, get some respect back, and get a proper team we can be proud of.

They've already involved some ex-players, speaking to Dom Matteo and Nigel Martyn as far as I know, but I agree, more would be welcome. Competitions, OK, I don't really know what it would achieve but they do a kickabout at the yearly barbecue type thing I think. But yeah, could work.

Really sad I can't afford to get to the AGM tonight, make the most of it anyone who is going. :)

As far as I'm aware GFH (or at least GFH Capital) have been involved from the beginning without in fact being the actual bidding party until recently. Also Bates' fingerprints are all over that joint statement. Wait until LUST have a chance to respond and back themselves up with the evidence they claim to have before we start doing exactly what Bates wants us to do. (great post btw Bucks)

LUST have behaved badly, and now find their trousers round their ankles. Sorry, but they are not fit and proper to be our supporters club. They built up membership because they were LYING about things, just good old propaganda. Bunch of busy bodies who have used the t/o talks to big themselves up as "connected" people. **** me, they really are connected, aren't they? Even if they have been speaking to someone at GFH, it's clear they haven't been speaking to the decision-makers. First rule of sales, speak to those who sign the cheque!!! Amateurs who know nothing, and have shown themselves to be incompetent. I admitted I made a mistake believing them in the beginning and signing up, but I managed to figure out they were bad for our club and ended my association with them. There's no shame realising you were taken in by a bunch of fools, but there's no honour in slagging off those who choose not to blindly follow LUST anymore.

I don't agree with everything but

1) Releasing a players statement of unrest hiding behind must protect identity and placing a board outside the ground to antagonise Bates and big themselves up.
2) Mix between lying and scaremonger tactics to gain support with their we will not have enough money to last until the end of the season and a few other small white lies.

Its how I feel and lots of others, without increasing support LUST have peaked, how will they gain increasing support if the T/O goes through? Who will care about LUST when the excitement of the new owners and cash injected materialises? If Cooper had stepped down I would have given them another cautious chance, he never so it shows he is in it for self as much as club.
