Hello Millwall Marco <cheers>

If that is the case, why are LUST not disclosing who the original buyers were that led Gary Cooper to give you his "Leeds fans can dare to dream" yarn. Should also ask them if they think they made a mistake by publicly stating (Gary Cooper on talk ****e) that he was 100% sure the deal would go through.

Seems from an outsiders point of view that LUST have strung the fans along more than Bates EVER has <ok>

You are quite negative about LUST and I only think that you are because you do not fully understand their role and what they offer, it seems as though you think they are trying to be a higher form whereas they are just trying to educate leeds fans of the ongoings around the football club. Not only this but they are also attempting to push the club in the right direction. I am not a member nor do I believe everything they do is for the good of the club however they are trying to do what is best for the club and for the fans' rights of knowledge as well.

From what I have seen Gary Cooper talks sense, the problem is he is a Leeds fan as well and gets just as excited about a potential takeover as the rest of the die hard leeds fans.

there in lies the problem. enthusiatic amateurs can be dangerous. But once bitten he should have learned to keep quiet until something happened. speculation helps no one.

Good point, I don't think anyone knows for sure, LUST certainly know a little more than the rest of us but not as much as they would like us to believe.

I know, they dismiss any statement as "speculation" without actually reading the thing, and they'll believe any ****e spouted by journalists as long as it disagrees with LUST, whereas if they agree then they're all talking rubbish.
 
Some of these anti-lust crew will even believe bates before lust, its pathetic. Way I see it, any announcement by lust speculating that the takeover has been almost complete is for two reasons. A) because that is what they have been told, its not their fault if it falls through at the last minute and B) to put pressure on bates. It's a tactical thing. I see no problem with pressurising bates to sell, his recent comments suggest its working and he wants out as quickly as possible, preferably before this set of buyers discover he's impossible to work with. I'd imagine the previous deal fell through because bates refused to stand up and pay for his own mess

I am not anti LUST nor do I follow them with blind enthusiasm which to me, it seems like a few do, their choice though and I won't hold anything against those that have high opinions of them.

Personally it is blatantly obvious as far as I am concerned that LUST get a lot of things wrong and they don't know as much as they would like everyone to believe. They mean well, they have the clubs best interest at heart, they put a lot of hours into what they do and they want Bates out as much as anyone but those things added together doesn't mean that they are right in all their actions and statements.

Dont think anyone is suggesting they are right all the time and the second part of your post is spot on. They give their time free of charge and do their best. Unlike a handful who do nothing other than sit behind their keyboards and criticise everything LUST do and seem to believe they are always wrong
 
I'm with ristac on this, but I will not blindly believe everything LUST say because to be frank they've spoken some bollicks over the last 4-months about this takeover. In the summer they published a load of crock about players being upset which was never substantiated, and even the media wouldn't publish anything like that without a bit of truth in it.

They mean well, and want the best for the club and fans, but the way they're organised is amatuer hour, simply because everyone has a voice and it can over as too much like WACCOE with members shouting over each other.

He's done nothing majorly wrong, and has done a lot majorly right and beneficial. They already have support, and it grows by the day. Anyone could be head of LUST and you'd get screbs taking a pop at them for **** all, just because they enjoy slandering people in a more influential position than themselves in the fanbase.
 
Its growing because people hate bates, thats all.

I know plenty who want nothing more to do with them, because of gary cooper
 
A contrarian like yourself must mix in like-minded circles, then, because everyone I know has been saying what a great job LUST is doing and how Gary has been dignified, diplomatic and impressive in all his interviews.

Why do 'plenty' take such exception to him? Are they scum fans or something?

It's time to stop bickering about what's happened in the past. It's what LUST can do in the future for us that's most important now. A true (two-way) voice on the board will do for starters. Now if you have REAL issues about LUST, the thing to do is join, and fight from within. The AGM on Thursday would be a good place to start. If it's like any AGM I've been to, it should have a vote for all elected postholders, so you can fill your boots! (Actually, I would have expected a canvass for potential new postholders to stand & put their cases for election to the wider LUST audience, but that hasn't happened. Perhaps I'll find out more on Thursday).

If you want to keep repeating the boring LUST arguments, go ahead - but wtf do you hope to achieve by doing it? Are you men or mice? Go on Thursday. Put up or shut up! (this is a generalisation, Chippie - I know you're going. Hope the champagne is on ice! <cheers> ).

My Leeds supporting mates are against LUST and how they have handled things so far, okay I am a good few miles out of Leeds and when I say Leeds supporting mates we are not talking double figures but a good 7-8 of them.

Liw has a point, we all hate Bates and want him out, we all want Leeds to be back in the premier league, we all want a T/O you would have thought IF LUST were on the right track EVERYBODY would be behind them totally?

Ignore the forum, just look at LUST on facebook and it is clear that they haven't the total support and they are certainly a long way short of it being everyone.

No mate, they don't speak on behalf of me and I am a fan. They don't (obviously) speak on behalf of a lot of fans, too much trumpet blowing and not enough substance.

There are 8300 people with a collective view that LUFC deserves the best. Bigger than any other LUFC-affiliated organisation (unless you listen to Bates spouting about the 'members'). You will NEVER get everyone agreeing about everything. It's the same for most large groups with a common aim. Just look at our political parties and you'll see very good examples - or even here at NOT606 !!!

LUST will never be a Utopian organisation where everyone agrees with everything. Deal with it!
