I know the game is just under 2 weeks away but for some it's the biggest game of the season and this international break is already boring enough. Not only is this a London derby but a proper London Derby filled with passion, fight, hatred and quality. Both sides are going well in the League so far. AVB's move to White Hart Lane spices things up a bit in a game that doesn't really need much more spice! For the supporters it's massive and the atmosphere is bound to be electric. I'm going and can't wait for it as it's sure to be a cracker. What does everyone think the score is going to be and who is going to the game? (and for Chelsea fans where are you sitting?)
humdinger of a game, both sets of players will be desperate to win it for their managers. will be interesting to see who wants it the most. i just hope that AVB wants it just a tad to much and plays to high up the pitch.
I forgot to add my prediction.... I think it will be a free-flowing attacking game from both sides but I'm going for a 2-1 to Chelsea with Torres to get the winner in front of us away fans
If it were at Stamford Bridge I'd be confident of victory as I don't feel Spurs have really been challenged yet and to be honest at the Bridge Spurs are usually piss easy to beat. Even so at WHL they haven't faced decent opposition in well over 6 months now (albeit 3 of those were a Summer break). We should win but you never know. Knowing our luck Hazard, Oscar and Ramires will all come back on crutches. The important thing now is to just take our minds off the game and concentrate on keeping players fit. If we can beat Arsenal away from home we can beat anyone. Spurs IMO are not as good as Arsenal and look what we did to Arsenal, we made them look an ordinary team 1st half. A win here would send out a big message so here's hoping. It's difficult to see Arsenal, City and United not winning so we must win IMO or at least take 4 points from the next 2 games
I know Man Utd haven't exactly been amazing this season but, given our history against them in particular, would you not consider them a test?
The Spuds came up with a good result at the weekend and stretched their unbeaten record to 4 games . AVB has got them moving and no doubt will be eyeballs out to turn us over! I'd feel confident if JT was leading the cause! Lets hope Frank can be a quality deputy!
Definitely but Evans and Rio are as good as anything you'd see on a Sunday in Richmond Park IMO. Take nothing away from Spurs they were excellent and withstood serious pressure but I think tougher tests will come. Still it's been an excellent start for Spurs bar Norwich at home.
We were that under AVB and ended up sacking him for being well very average. maybe that what AVB stands for? Average Bastard
Will be a great game and could go either way. Form and recent meetings suggests maybe a 1-1. I think we are due a win at WHL though so maybe we can nick a 2-1. Can their defence cope with the likes of Hazard, Mata and Oscar? If they can they have every chance. 4 points from the next 2 games would be a fine return, 6 and we can start talking up the league!!
Just to clarify we're actually 4 straight wins in the league, unbeaten in the league in 6 and unbeaten in our last 9 across competitions. Should be a great game can't wait
Can't be harder than the Arsenal game so I'm relatively confident. I read that the Chelsea players have clubbed together for a present for the vertically challenged Bale. please log in to view this image Just need the physio to screw them on.
You'll have to. As will we all. A very long time. Internationals It's crazy how many big derbies/games there are after the IB though Spurs v Chelsea Sunderland v Newcastle Palace v Millwall Burnley v Blackpool Hardly ideal preparation for managers of those clubs. Particularly the NE Derby where results of that game basically change the entire mood of the club for the entire season with regards to fan relation to manager, form, attendances.
Good post. There are some Chelsea fans that pretend to not care about Spurs and only see Arsenal, United and Pool as rivals but anyone doing that now is myopic, Spurs v Chelsea now is as big as it's ever been for both sets of fans and only behind the North London Derby in terms of biggest in London IMO. I don't class West Ham and Millwall as the biggest, off the pitch probably but nowhere near on it. I managed to somehow get a ticket after it had Sold Out but have to go on my own. I'll be Upper Tier, restricted view though... I'll make predictions when I know how large our injury list thanks to those fooking internationals
Yeh should be a cracking game... well even though it's an upper tier restricted view tickets at least you'll be at the game! I went for lower tier tickets when buying them for me and my mate as apparently last season the upper tier were constantly being told to sit down... None of that in the lower tier. I have to be up at 6.30am tomorrow though to get into that online ticketing queue for the Swansea away tickets. Will sell out sharpish so need to get there early!
